Positive experience with the cops

Having read a few different topics on me about experiences with the cops and firearms, i thought i would share with you my experiences.

I have had a shotgun certificate for many years. it was granted when i was 12 and i am now 29.

I recently put in for my FAC and the turnaround from me sending it and receiving my FAC was a mere 3 weeks. I thought that was bloody impressive.

It got better this week just past.

My local friend and gun dealer phoned me up on Tuesday and said he had a .222 going cheap due to a client of his having allowed his license to lapse.

I spoke to my FEO, whose mobile i have (he does not mind people phoning him with queries) and he advised me the following.

Send my FAC to Winchester with a covering letter explaining that i want a "one for one" change of entitlement to own a .223 rifle and .223 sound moderator to .222 same.

3rd July 2008

Dear Sirs,

Please be advised that I request that my entitlement for the possession of,

1 x .223 Bolt Action rifle

And

1 x .223 Sound Moderator

Be changed “one-for-one†for the entitlement to hold,

1 x .222 Bolt Action Rifle

And

1 x .222 Sound Moderator

I recently acquired my FAC and have found a rifle that I like for sale with a local gun-dealer, however it is .222 as opposed to .223 which is the current entitlement I have on my certificate.

He is holding the rifle for me on the basis that you will be able to alter the necessary on my FAC. I am advised that there is no fee for doing this.

Please find my current FAC enclosed with this letter,

Yours faithfully,

...............

I sent this on Wednesday at 4pm.

On Friday morning i received the ammended version back.

Other than that, my general experiences with the cops has been utter dog ****.

Nice to be suprised occasionly.
