farmboy
Hi all, been quite a while since posting on PW. I've finally got back out hunting for the first time since last autumn most likely. I had to stop then as my knee was a mess, still is now just not quite as bad. Despite quite an improvement from a clean out I've really struggled to get back in to shooting. I managed to get out a week or so back to do a bit of target shooting, and I got round to going out hunting tonight. Managed a couple of squirrels. One about 5 yards away and one from just under 20. To top off the evening I spotted a red deer in the process of giving birth (there was a bag out anyway), which was a first for me. The bugs definitely bitten again. farmboy
The close one was either brave or stupid. It came out of a hedge, scampered up a tree and then decided to watch. What I was doing. It even repositioned its self to offer me a better shot. I hate close shots like that, can't really see what you are doing. I'm glad I got myself acquainted with the closer range shots earlier on. I'm hoping to go and spot that fawn in the next few days. We need to know a rough location for when the field's cut for hay.
