Hello all,

I am a left handed shooter, and want to know if all Browning O/U models are available left handed. i.e. with cast on and l/h palm swell.

I am thinking of buying a GP Sporter, or maybe an Ultra XS. My dealers are unsure, and the catalogues are vague on this. Any info much appreciated.

hey up mick,

i had same problem with me browning 525, i had it cast for me, (left hand) but had big problems with it belting my face, to a point of blacking my eye, in 20yrs of shooting never had that be for, at the shooting ground i go to i picked the same gun off the shelf an had a round with it, (straight stock) my scores improved, face was in one peice to, well happy, i would find a shop that has a try be for you buy, i wasted £800 on my first 525, it might pay you dividens mate,

hope you find what you want mick

all the best mox.

Having owned loads of Brownings over the years i can tell you that the reason they only do i think 1 left handed model these days is that they are virtually straight whereas Berettas have a little bit of cast. Some of the Brownings(Ultra XS) have a right handed palmswell so i should probably avoid an XS or get one and have the swell removed like i did on an Mk38 Grade 5 Trap once.

The Gun had a palmswell and i hated it, took it to my local gunsmith and he 'rasped' the thing off and had it rechequered and you would never tell.

Hope this helps
