insurance

This all depends on two factors:

How is the contract of insurance made with the organization - Is the SGA offering the insurance directly, are they operating as an agent of the underwriter or are they just an introducer? In other words can the SGA insure you directly or do your records have ot be passed ot the underwriter or their official agent before the contact of insurance is made.

What are the rules of the organization and the benefits members get? When do you become a member of the SGA? Is it at the point you make a valid payment, is it at the point that they consider you to be a member - the two can be very different you see.

It is always worth checking this with your organization to see exactly when you are and are not covered.

If you were covered immediately you had joined on line I would have expected an e-mail back from the SGA almost immediately with confirmation and a policy or membership or reference number on it.

If you do not have this then I suggest you may not be covered until you get official notification.

Hope that helps

David
