hi all my mate has asked me to help try and sort his 18 month old springer out as the dog has had no training what so ever ! now ive managed to get him to sit and stay while he has the lead on but once the lead is off he literally charges off and will not respond to any kind of vocal or whistle command . so im hoping somebody on here might have some suggestions what to do next ! cheers :good:

Increase the length of lead perhaps. Give the dog a command and/or whistle, if you fail to get a response stamp on the trailing lead. It worked with my Pointer but timing is key. Works very well for teaching the dog to heal aswell. May be worth a try as springers learn real fast.
