lozninja
Tactical Light Have been Using it for a while Fanatstic piece of kit . I use it on.22lr and Air Rifle Both with and without filters on it The Beam is GOOD For 100 meters. It does go further but identification gets dodgey at that range. I purchased this because i Lamp all the time and have all the BIG KICK *** Lamps with the big swinging batterys that knacker you out when you walk around at night . So to me this was a certain winner. The battery life of this is very good you can get reachargeables But they dont last quite so long obviously . My reachargeables 650 mah lion 6-7 hrs . Which for me again is ample . If you put more powerfull ones it it will double . The ad-ones you get for these little lights is very good as well filters etc . It come with a tactical switch for fixing to your gun as well as a standard switch for off you weapon use . The torch is nicely solid built alluminium , waterproof with rubber seals every where . Not that id take there word for WATERPROOF as this is a strong word to use . But mine certainly has not let the weather in yet . The mounts they send you are good as long as you have a 25mm scope on rifle other wise you will have to order the 30mm mount. The tactical swithch is standard with a velcro attachment on curly lead that screws to the back of the battery compartment. This switch works very well but if was going to be really finaccy i would say its a little stiff when new , but it does soften up after use. Another good idea is that on the GL4 When you unscrew the battery compartment it is possable to unscrew a section of the torch and remove it to make it smaller , it then runs of 3 batteries instead of 4 . This is fantastic for adapting the torch to pistols or smaller weapons or to put in your pocket and go for a walk etc . The head of the torch is a good size as well a lott bigger than standard little torches and the reflectors reasonable which means it gives the light a good throw . As for lumens well who knows All manufatures quote different figure etc about whats brightest and im sure there is always something brighter somewhere around the corner . But As for would i reccomend this torch ? Yes its brilliant . Not Cheap by any means but hay my lightforce was £160 on its own. The spares and parts are readilly available and you can walk or sit for hours with one of these and still have the energy to lift the gun and shoot without having 3 tonnes of wires and batteries around your head . YURGH !! By the WAY ONE IMPORTANT THING !!! THERE IS NO INSTRUCTION MANUAL WITH THESE UNITS . AND NO INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO FITT THE BATERIES PROPERLLY . YOU MUST FIT THE BATTERIES AS YOU WOULD WITH NORMAL TORCH IE: SPRING ON THE MINUS END POSSITIVE END IN FIRST TOWARDS THE BULB ( LED) . IF YOU PUT THE BATTERIES IN THE WRONG WAY YOU WILL AND I QUOTE BLOW THE LED AND ITS KNACKERED . BECAUSE THE TORCHES ARE MANUFATURED IN CHINA THERE SEEMS TO BE NO REVERSE POLARITY PROTECTOR ON THEM . SO PLEASE BE CARE FULL . i KNOW AS I HAVE DONE THIS TWICE IN A ROW . one of my other led torches the battries go in upside down and i was on a long weekend shoot and put the battries in the wong way round . DOH !! End of shoot . So Be Warned . Hope this Helps lozninja Edited March 13, 2009 by lozninja
