Axe
Uploading an Image Members are currently provided 29.3mb of space to upload images to be used in topics etc. When posting images you must also remember that only 300kb or space is permitted for uploaded images in any single post. For this reason, it is beneficial to ensure that the images are reduced in size to make them easy to view and store. We recommend a size of no more than 640x480 pixels. Please note that certain areas of the forums do not permit the uploading of images using this method and the upload option will be missing from the post editor screen. If you do not have access to an image editor to resize a picture, there are many services on the internet that provide this free of charge. Once you have your images stored and resized correctly on your computer, follow the steps below to upload and manage them. Step 1 Click on to search for your image. Step 2 Select your chosen image and click . Step 3 With the file now selected and showing in the box to the left of the 'Upload' button, click to upload the image. You may repeat steps 1 to 3 to upload additional images. Step 4 Finally, to insert the image into your post, click the drop down text box to 'Manage Current Attachments' and display the list of your uploaded images. Then click to the left of the image you wish to insert. For your information, the image is inserted where ever you leave the flashing cursor. To delete an image from the list, click to the left of the image you want to delete.
Axe
Linking to a Remote Image Images found on the internet can be posted in a topic without having to upload them. In order to do this you need the images url. Please note that some sites do not allow remote linking of images and copyright should be adhered to at all times. Step 1 Having located your image simply right click the image and select 'Properties'. This will display all the information about the image, including its url. Step 2 Highlight the url address by left clicking and dragging across it. Step 3 Right click on the selection and click on 'Copy'. Step 4 Return to the text editor in Pigeon Watch and place the flashing cursor in the position where you want the image to appear in your post. Click and a pop up box will appear, right click in its text box and select 'Paste' then click Using BB Code When you become familiar with the way the code looks once you have inserted your images several times, you may wish to use the BB Code instead. Using the example above (the PW Members Badge), the code should look like this: [img=http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/uploads/post-1755-1148638899.gif] And you should see the the Pigeon Watch Members Badge.
