harpo_the_bad
Hi Lee! You'll probably get a split response on this I reckon. Personally I much prefer the internal type of choke and both of my guns have them. Wouldn't change them for the world. I know someone who has external type chokes. I thought that they were a neat idea to start with... but when he did them up by hand they always worked loose... which is potentially INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS! These days he always does them up tight with the choke key so all he gained was making his barrel longer. With regards to how the gun works... I doubt it makes any difference. We haven't noticed any. If you hunt then you may possibly get spotted easier with the silver knurled section on the end of your blackerdized/blued barrel? Not sure. Again I doubt it has much effect and it probably just comes down to personal taste. One thing is for sure: replacement chokes are not cheap! Try and look after these ones mkay? Good luck!
