I agree that the forum is a good source of knowledge and an excellent resource for up and coming shooters, and the next bit is what worries me " We are not all born with a super knowledge of the sport", you get your gun, you can go shoot it, who tells you what you can and cannot do???

point of fact, i did "bother" to check, i also "bothered" to read your post, did you read through everything on this post? and the one that got me to post that?

i was going to ask someone to vouch for me against that comment, but i'd rather not drag them down to that vile level

still stands after reading through all the posts made last night. so sad to see someone shoot themselves down and give any antis watching some free ammo.

and as a lot of people have confirmed by p.m and by phone it was a good point to bring up and the resulting childish and inadequate responses where as expected, but the question had to be asked and in the same context the answers had to be given, and sadly they proved beyond a reasonable doubt that my first comment was spot on. Take the ****, have a laugh but at the end of the day its your loss. Great that you could find some help.

Hey nickbeardo, the questions may seem irrelevant and childish but now that the testosterone has worn off we can answer some questions. swan is not on the gen licence in this country, but i bet you some of the newer shooters from other countries have shot them.

nah, he was better, i haven't slagged off everybody just replied to some very silly comments and some very interesting views, you decide, it just ****** me off when people who wouldn't say boo to a goose quiet readily attack someone over the net, a typed/written word can be taken so many ways, the bible, koran etc and used in whatever way the reading person decides, the digital life is so... sheesh, and retaliation against the unarmed is so satisfying. who says i was insulting them? you? you have done nothing but attempt insult and derogatory remarks, as you have done on other occasions no doubt, as i said in an earlier post everything can be taken a hundred different ways, your prerogative to take it any way you want..

y It sorts out the real shooters fairly quickly, i have taken loads of people shooting and after safety what comes next? i just needed to draw attention to the fact that we have nothing except our mates to rely on when it comes to what, where, when we can shoot, and how to get that info other than that is quiet vague

i would rather hang myself on this forum than hang myself in real life, do you have anything positive to add at all? or are you really just in it for the laugh? i think that the possibility of getting it wrong and being thrown in the nick for 5 to 10 kind of makes it not funny.

I meant no disrespect with the buck stops here, i just find it amazing that we have this attitude, some, like your son it seems, have the brains and education, which i attribute to the parents, to go looking for the answers from knowledgeable people, some just go with what they hear in the pub after ten pints, and yes anything can be said on this forum and anything can be taken or interpreted a hundred ways, does not mean it was meant as you take it. it may be an arrogant comment to you, but it was a response to a comment made by someone else, see if you can spot it, and when did i say i was an expert? i started this thread to see if any useful comments could be made, the one you made about pointing them at the general license is one of the better ones, climb down a few rungs and use this as a way of educating or helping someone else, did you see charly jacobie get shot down by the fox huggers?

never been able to shoot them before magman so i went looking for advice, NE told me canadas were protected at all times, the gen license says otherwise, who do you go to for info when you are after a new quarry, or do you just shoot it and hope thats ok?

yeah i get the feeling that most people would rather bury their heads in the sand than discuss, its why we as a community will eventually lose all our shooting rights, and guess who will moan the loudest, whats the reason you started it?

It is becoming very clear to me that the shooting community as a whole is very uneducated in respect of what it can/cannot shoot, the law and how we stand, what my uncles , mates, best friend said you can do that, and shed loads of other rubbish, the average licence holder applies, receives, goes and shoots pigeons, does he know what a rock dove is? does he know how a racing pigeon fly's? does he know he cannot use a device to flash blind them as they come in to his net? i would welcome a chance to air this in an open discussion or if deemed too sensitive then via pm, please ask anything relevant and no offense intended, this is where it started http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/217757-new-game-dealer-required/ if you can take the time to read through then you will get what i mean, Terry SGC holder FAC holder i love my shooting and would stand at the front to protect my right to do so. its the way its seen or interpreted that's the problem, if i didn't now look at the general licence then from what you said it could be construed that wood pigeon was the only thing that could be sold, if you where a newbie at shooting then might you not take it as gospel what some one told you? Game dealer sorted Peterborough game dealer, quid a rabbit, 40p a bird, £3 a kilo venison except for smellies and cwd, very nice chap called Richard 01778393813, My wife says the recipe is like doing a steak stew, tomato sauce to give it a zest, chalots, oxo for the gravy and loads of wet stuff, if you like ale then whack a half pint in, not too dark and cook for as long as you can resist the smell (6-8 hours) I am going to start this one in a new thread now.
