  1. I know absolutley nothing about berettas to be honest. Just thay they seem to be extremley popular. I have no idea how the various models get their number eg s56e.

I just bought a s56e at auction. I googled this model and i think they might date from the 70s. Can anyone tell me anything else. The serial number is b27161b. It has 26.5 inch barrels, pistol grip stock and single selective trigger. Any info much appreciated!

  2.

Hmm all sounds very interesting ! I don't think Purdey's will tell you who ordered the gun but I think they will tell you the date it was made & times it had been back to their workshops ect if its a conversion from pinfire it will have 2 filled holes on the top of the breech end of the barrels some times with a small sunburst engraved around each one as I expect you may know .

Will be interesting to hear what you get back .

At present i know it was made for a Mr A Pepys and was completed in 1864 with 30inch barrels

  3. Am I the only one who would prefer a new silver pigeon. It's a lot of money to spend on a gun you won't want to use. But hey it takes all sorts you'll enjoy owning it

its like owning a classic car. You might not want to run in every day but its sure nice to own and take out once in a whilr.

  4. I recently picked up a Dan Arms O/U, however there seems to be a problem with the ejector timing on the bottom barrel. It appears it trys to eject the cartridge before the breech is fully open. Does anyone know how to adjust this, and does anyone know how to actually get the ejectors out so I can check them over for grit etc?
