hi all, been a while since ive been on here. the past 6 months have been crazy for us. as some of you will know, my son jack has cerebal palsy and we started fundraising in may to fund an operation in the states that could change his whole life. WELL IT HAS!!!!! jack had his op on the 18th november. we manage to raise to date £75k in 5 months and still on-going. the operation called SDR had the potential to elimate the problem called ****ity which prevented jack from walking, and cause alot of pain to his muscles. well we found out on friday that the operation was very sucessful and the ****ity had been completely removed from his body. jack had never walked before the op, he is now 3 yrs old, and in the past week he has walked over 300feet in his walker, only 3 weeks after surgery!!. the doctor over there is very happy with the progress and expects jack to be walking with crutches within a year, then hopefully on his own with no aids. the op has helped him in so many different ways. his is so happy with his 'new legs' and we as a family have recieved the best christmas present ever. there is still lots of work physically for him to be done, but he is a very determind little lad. thank you to everyone who helped us with our fundraising, you have made jack a very happy little boy

evening all, just another update for you. we are now sitting at £25000. we have also booked a date for the operation. we fly out on the 12th nov, cant wait. we are all very excited, especially wee jack. we are now on the big push to reach our total so if anyone would like to help us reach it please please give me a shout. wether it be chucking a pound or 2 into the pot, or simply passing a flyer on to all your contacts for us. every little helps G

evening guys, thanks for the comments. re the easyfundraising, we are already set up for that, a few folk have mentioned the fun run but to be honest we are just too busy to do another event at the minute. we are currently sorting a fashion show, ladies night, stripper night, full monty night, charity boxing, the list goes on. im also taking sponsors for a parachute jump. we have 30 jumpers at the minute and still have space for another couple if any of the scottish guys would like to help out. going to be 2 seperate days of jumping with bands playing and a bbq. hoping its a good one. we have a flyer made up with all the info of jacks cause on it. if anyone would like to help us out by even sending this to your friends and contacts please give me a shout. we are not only trying to help jack, we are trying our best to raise the awareness of this op to hopefully let other families in our situation find out about it. we are even considering setting up our own charity once we get jacks op to help these families get this life changing opportunity oh yeah, the clay shoot. im waiting on a local clay shoot getting back to me, also been told that a team of firearms officers would like to enter a team. il keep you posted on its progress. and as if all this wasnt a hand full, baby no2 entered the world on sunday. her and mum just got back home today!!

just a little update for you guys, we have now raised £16,500 still a good bit to raise, but if we keep going at this rate jnr will get his op by the end of the year. a big thank you to all who have made a donation so far, we are still looking for any help, donations, raffle prizes, basically anything to help us reach our target. so please keep our campaign in mind and tell others, we also want to raise the awareness of this op as much as we possibly can, so that other families in our position have the chance of this life changing operation. thanks again folks

thank you, was a very hard decision but needs must. i need to take at least a month off work for the trip, then a return visit to the states 6 months later. its a lot of time off with no pay so got to think sensible for now
