Shot 2 cushies today towards dusk,both stuffed with ivy berries and a few hawthorn berries.Saw lots more flying to roost with full crops.It looks like pigeons here wont touch rape until all the ivy has been eaten.Because it is so mild the ivy has ripened very early.Small gangs of pigeons all over the area but none on rape.

Roost shooting on saturday.Perfect evening,wind strong NW squally showers,pigeons came in steadily from 3-5pm 65 shots for kills,great sport.All birds stuffed with ivy berries,all mature adults.Still no birds on local rape.

Still no activity on rape between Chippenham and Bath,but I did see 500+ on a field to the south of the M4 between J15 andJ16.Too far away for me but somebody should have a go at them.
