Thanks for all your replys. I have set my heart on a spaniel which i want as a working dog, rough shooting, maybe game shooting picking up or beating. I live in bristol, sprocket, i may take you up on that, as i would love to see them working and have so many questions to ask. I have found a breeder who has a ESS ready in June so this gives me time to prepare. Regards Chris

Hi all, I am a complete novice and would love to get a ESS pup as a working dog. Can anyone help me find a ESS in the south west of england. Does it help to have parents who are FTch and good blood lines. recommended books for starting out with a pup and training her. Any help would be very much appreciated. regards Chris

I am looking for pigeon shooting with 20 years experience in shooting, I use to have 2 farms at norton marleward near Dundry but unfortunitly they stopped farming the land, so i have been clay shooting ever since, however i would dearly love to get some farms back for vermin shooting around the South west . Not to step on anyone's toes, i did ask in the farm you stated past Marshfield with the airfield, however i was turned down. The other farm is part of Macalpines estate in Coldfield and is managed by a tennent farmer, i asked th farm workers if he allowed anyone on his land, however he said he hadn't seen anyone shooting on the land. I did not find the tennent farmer who's name is Ken, so this maybe a avenue to pursue. Just a quick note i would hae shared any shooting there had i obtained any as tips like that are invaluable. I have noticed this land also, on my way down to Brook bank shooting. I have a friend from Blagdon who has some local knowledge, he thinks that land belongs to a syndicate. thanks for your help. I'll keep looking. regards Chris
