Hi everyone, I found this clip on youtube to show what Eiderduck hunting is all about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1TeXpdE26c. The film is not from Denmark but I think it shows what decoying Eiders is all about. I usually shoot Eiders with size 1 or 2 (steel as lead is not allowed) to be sure that if hit they will die, as they can be pretty hard to kill. The hunting is at sea and if the birds are not killed in 2 shot they will dive and can then be tough to find. I also have my own rule that I don't shoot if the birds are not within 20-25 meters. I have been doing the Eidershunting in about 20 years now, starting when I was 16 years old and it is still my preferred way of hunting :-) but it's also a bit cold in the end of the season (in February), but if you know the spots you can also shoot a lot of birds in the beginning in October Per

Hi all here's a picture from the last season in Denmark, it's my big brother who is sitting in the smallest boat I have (I have 3) I'm very interested if someone will swap with some woodpigeonshooting next year i August or September. We will bring our own gear, decoys etc. I will arrange everything for you and totally free: transport from/to airport, gun (O/U or automatic 12G), accomodation, boats and so on. If someone is interested in swapping they could come to Denmark to shoot eiderducks or pheasants from October to February.
