    Is that a good thing

perhaps it’s time for a change and make us a productive country manufacturing products that we need

seems like there’s too many eggs in one basket and not enough in the other

    My thoughts also

I might be buying **** I don’t need but by doing so somebody else is employed and earning money that they then spend. Some of it, perhaps, on things associated with your employment.

I understand how the world and the economy works bud (  I don't need a nursery school lesson off ya , thanks very much)

i stand by my comments , too many pubs etc , that are NOT Needed

😂 Is that a joke or are you serious?

Yes , society is consumerism at the moment and has been for years ,

too many of the same type of shops  selling **** you don't need , 5 barbers , 2 off-licences , 2 pubs etc etc all within 500 yds of each other

i dont  buy into it , never had and never will

    consumerism has  taken over

I disagree. We have become very dependent on the service industries. Remember that if we are not spending on things like this then the money isn’t being recirculated in the economy and people employed by these industries aren’t spending money on other things.

I'm not dependant on any service industries mate , far too many of em have popped up over the last 30 years

I bid all you consumer slaves a fond farewell

enjoy buying **** you don't need lol lol

It’s not callous, it’s just cold hard facts from Oowee’s perspective.

If we have a major economic depression, a load of pubs and restaurants closing down will be the least of our problems.

Also as he says, those businesses and types of jobs are very much easily replaced (when times are good). It’s not like an industry that requires millions to start up a place.

Many restaurants and similar spring up overnight and many of them close down within the first year or two. The staff whilst I am sure are lovely people, don’t require any sort of high flying qualifications or similar, and the pub and restaurant industry is well known for having short term staff and high staff turnover, as well as employing lots of casual type workers who are just doing that type of work as a stop gap.

I’d be more worried about major major industry closing down or leaving the U.K., as if that happens you can be sure it’ll never come back.

    I agree

pubs n resteraunts , cafes, food outlets are luxuries and not a necessary to keep the uk going

same as sports stadiums , art galleries and museums etc

far  too many of them as there is . You can live without them ,

they  are NOT required in the grand scheme of survival , they are luxuries

  6. Ok a bit more detail,

gun is 8.5 out of 10 condition , due to very slight mark on barrel and stock ( you have to look closely to see them)

rifle has fired approx 140 rounds from new, 70 of a chap who only used it for boar trips in Europe and 40 off me

this has been a cabinet queen and would be marked a 10 out of 10 if it weren't for the slight marks ( apart from these marks, the gun is emaculate ) I always used my 308 , this gun is too good for me to use as a tool lol

    rifle £700

    Hauksen 30 cal mod £150

    zeiss duralyte 3 X 12 X 50 , ret 6 and warne mounts £400

    Brand new spare magazine £40

    60 rounds £50

    strap £10

    Bipod £20

i want the rifle and mod to go first , then maybe willing to split and sell the rest seperatley , prefer face to face on the FAC stuff, but if needs must will rfd at buyers costs,

if if split the prices quoted above  include postage

or £1200  as a full package for everything in the pic

I know the government deposit scheme makes new builds attractive for first time buyers but I would be cautious in the current climate. New houses have a premium on them that takes a few years to erode. There will be a depression of house prices which means inevitable negative equity. I would go for a non-new build if at all possible.

If you do go for a new build I would second the use of specialist snagging company. They last new build I bought about 15 years ago was a high spec, high value house from a premium builder and the number of ‘snags’ that the company picked up was incredible.

    Never buy a new house,

buy a 5 year old one , all the snags and shrinkage and drainage issues , should have been sorted by then

  12. Gents,

i dont want to put a downer on the weekend but,,,,,,,,,

i would be VERY carefull travelling to Scotland , it's basically a no go at the moment with this corona ****,

local lads  are only going shooting up there if there perms are within a 5 mile radius ,

I stalk a bit further north than eskdalemuir , and it's a big no till wee crankie lifts the restrictions ,

local cops /  FLOs  will prosecute if an out of towner who is a non resident decides to go on a Mooch north of the border,

do so at your own risk and of that of your FAC, it's big news at the moment , till hill , Fountain and SNH etc have all stopped shooting activities on there land . Can you guarantee the social distancing etc

have  a long hard think about it , I wouldn't take anybodies word/ interpretation of the Scottish guidelines

    apart from the Scottish government

hopefully restrictions  will be lifted in phase 2 and 3 etc and hopefully in time for the weekend

  13. Travel to parks ,

let  the chaos commence, all points apart from the quarantine are open to interpretation ,

which parks can can I travel to?? The one in Inverness ? As long as I keep to social distancing etc ?

*** give us some proper answers

The NHS has loads of capacity now. Nobody doubts that now. As as for being trusted to drive. Well the majority of us have managed for years without killing or seriously injuring ourselves in a car crash. I’ve been in more danger with all of the DIY I have been doing recently.

Couldn't agree more with ALL your comments bud , it's the other idiots on the road we have to watch out for

As for the NHS coping , yes they can at this moment in time..    .   .  As a key worker though ( building Temporary ICU units across the north west ) I can only go on what the health care professionals are telling me at the moment

We don't want a 2nd wave if we can help it

I'm itching to go out , I can get in my car and travel 3 hrs to my stalking ground ( without any interaction with ANYONE and stay in my caravan on 10,000 acres and not see a soul) which I've done for years , without any accidents

But it only takes the one time

    Do you get it now!!!!!!
