  1. Hi All, 4 months ago bought AA Prosport FAC in walnut.......not getting on with it....decision made I am getting rid of it,,,,and getting PCP My options are either AA PCP or Weihrauch PCP. So I'm thinking either Hw100T in walnut or AA S510 Xtra FAC ultimate sporter. I'm not too sure about the laminate stock but it's supposed to be a great gun.....I'm probably edging a bit on the HW100T walnut as it's regulated and just looks better Appreciate any feedback
  2. Very good point...one thing is that it's not a sub 12.....it's 18....need a FAC for all air rifles in Ireland
  3. OK...decided air rifle = AA Pro sport walnut .22 Scope I have narrowed to: Hawke Sidewinder 30 Tactical SF 6.5-20x42 Hawke Airmax 30 6-24x50 Hawke Airmax EV 4-12x50 AO However people have commented to make sure I get a good set of mounts/rings (are they one piece or separate) So my question what are a good set of mounts/rings to insure no movement ????
  4. Well, I will be use it for magpies, crew crows & rabbits, but I would love to be able to extend the range for a bit of long range stuff as well. See Ted Holdover guy on youtube uses the Hawke sidewinder TAC thinks it 4-20 x 42.....they saucy at £379...question is...is it worth it Is there a cheaper option that will do the same job
  5. We'll after getting some fine advice on this forum, I just ordered the AA pro sport .22 with the walnut stock. As I have blown the budget on the purchase there is no point in buying a crappy scope, I want to buy a scope that the gun deserves. Looking to spend up a couple hundred pounds. So again looking for advice here, what scope and rings etc should I get, hawke stuff looks pretty good. See fella on YouTube Si Pittaway..... gr8 shooter and he has the hawke nite-eye 6-24x50 ao ir sr12.....so recommendation greatly appreciated, budget flexable
  6. Well after all the great advice and watching lots of reviews last night I rang the dealer this morn and cancelled the weihrauch. Upgraded the order to a AA prosport with walnut stock. I know bit of an upgrade but going to be looking at it for years and that walnut stock looks fantastic. Getting Nikko sterling 3 to 12 x 50 scope.
  7. Hi lads Many thanks for advice, went with Hw97, only problem now is that I'm not sure which one to get K or kt or kt synthetic any thoughts
  8. OK hot off the press From reading the mails I decided against PCP....one shot will do me fine.....gun dealer has said he has a HW97 in stock for eur 554 (OK budget gone but what the hell....I do want quality so will pay a bit extra) so Sorry more questions 1. What's your opinion on HW 97 (read some good reviews) 2. Assuming above is good, what scope should I get ....OK will spend up to another say EUR200 on mounts and scope...gundealer said He can fit a hawke scope (sorry don't know model) with mill dots for eur 110 I'm fine with EUR554 +110 for HE97 and scope...questions is it up to scratch? thnx a again for all the info
  9. Thnx all Just rang up gunshop to get quote on springers, HW80 eur 560 aa TC 200 similar They have PCP in stock and I'm half tempted, they have a AA S510 Beech Stock, think it's the one with the longer barrel (not the carbine) Whats people's view on this PCP....he has it in stock and thinking of buying it just want to make sure it's a real good one So feedback be much appreciated

  18. Really starting to enjoy target shooting with my 223 rifle....I haven’t done much up till now just rezeroing on my own land (safe backdrop of course) ...I have plenty of steel plate available, plasma cutter and welder So I’m thinking of making up some steel targets, thinking of 1. Side profile of fox 2. Front profile of fox 3. 4 inch circle hanging from a stand (stand would two upside down “V” with a cross piece) I’m interested to know has anyone else have made steel targets and if so any advice /pics
  19. Hi All, Currently I have a pair of dunlop purofort wellies (think thats what they called)......since the the start of Nov I've been doing a lot of walking in them and as of last Sat I've a real bad arch pain in my foot. I've got insert and they appear to be solving the problem...however I wouldn't mind getting a pair of proper wellies that support the arch of the foot. I've looked at the Le chameau Chasseur boot it's expensive I know (not too bothered on cost once it will do a good job) I've also looked at the Dubarry range of boots Have other pope on here had my problem and what welly have they gone for?
  20. I'm looking for a light goretex jacket for the forthcoming pheasant season. For the past two seasons I have been using an ex British camo goretex jacket. For me this type of jacket is perfect for the following reasons 1. The jacket takes up minimal space and is easily carried in the game back 2. When it does rain, it's very light, keeps you try and is breathable. 3. When it rains heavily, it perfect as one can wear a peeked cap and pull the hood over it, rain blowing horizontally does not hit your face However I want a plain green goretex jacket that looks the part..ie exact same as the one I have but just not in camo Anybody ever come accross one Photo of my existingt jacket attached
  21. hi..I have a Tikka T3 just took bolt out to clean but can't put it back in.....firing pin seems to be in the fired position as in out.....anyone have the solution
  22. Hi All, My gun club is looking at doing a vermin to get the fox numbers down and to get club coffers up. Are there many people on here that have involvement in same…..I probably will go visit a club that have a proven record in getting a high number of foxes by this method. How much many tails does your club raise and how doers the day pan out, number of guns, number of dogs etc
  23. I thinking of building a live fox trap (not a snare)...something like a cage with meat in it and once fox touched meat trap door shuts behind him. Anyone build one here before
