  1. +1 for the HOWA 1500 mines a varmint as well,,, tac driver at 200 mts picked a new mag con for £68 5 OR 10 rounds same price my mate shoos a t3 his looks nicer??? but you can,t tell them apart grouping wise both will drive nail at 200mts

  2. Been shooting thirty years and only sold one, a rifle last year, I just tend to get a bigger cabinet. I have had to get a couple of shotguns scrapped though as they were shot out and beyond economic repair.

nice to see i,m not the only 1 that dose not sell his guns ( my son tends to get my old ones ) i can,t seem to give them up like the man said i just get bigger or in my case more cabinets (my wife says how many guns do you need) i tell her i,v always got room for 1 more in my cabinet

  3. i got my 204 just as a foxing cal with a nv add on!! but having shot it for over a year now it dose much more long bunny and crows out past 300mts but thats as far as i take it,,,,, i don,t shoot any thing past that range i do reload for it and to get the best out of this cal it,s the way to go mine loves any thing i put down it 40 vmax 32bks 32 noslers they all shot well when you find that sweet spot i do tend to shoot 40 vax on foxes mostly never had any trouble with it on foxes it drops them out to around 250 mark on some of the moors we shoot over i do tend to get them in a lot closer than that as a rule,,,, put in for it you will not be sorry ian

  4. I would imagine this makes a difference.

a few farms we shoot over they are very lamp shy mite pick them up 300/400 mts with the lamp but that it !!! but with nv its a diffrent ball game can pick them up at that range and watch come in before you send them to a better place the only time we use a lamp nowdays is to go and pick them up some days it dosn,t seem fair because they never know a thing about it but thats the way foxing has seemed to gone

  5. If they try fobbing you off that he has the .243 for fox and doesn't require the .204 tell them that he wants the .204 as a dedicated rifle with night vision and it isn't viable or reasonable to keep swapping scopes on the .243. Legally, they cannot refuse the .204 as he does have a legitimate use for it but it is easier to tell them it will be a dedicated nv gun.

But it is deer legal in England as you can use it on muntjac and CWD

my 204 is set up with nv and is just a foxing set up the lad is going to do the same told them that when he came to see him !! but he went away and gave him a call saying no to 204 and 308 still waiting for them to get back to him about the 204 he is off this week when the lad called back to find out why ??

  6. i went down the road of a 243 1st for fox then later for deer (i booked a days stalking) just to keep the fao happy my son has just put in for his 1st c/fire (well 3) 204 for fox, 243 for fox and deer, and a 308 for the big stuff, he had his vist of fao told no to 204 !!! yes to 243 FOX and DEER he has been out with us foxing and deer stalking and they have given him it open after the two letters we put in and no to 308 i can under stand the no to 308 but not the 204 but thats the way it goes did ask why its was no to 204 they have not back to him yet!!! IAN
