  1. I'd be interested in knowing what screens you were using. I've not found any that have backlight adjustment. It's the only weakness with the ones I've built so adjustability would be a massive bonus.

You turn the brightness down on the screen

  2. Hi Fruity,

Great job, likewise digit,Fruity can I ask the viewfinder you are using what mag is it is it the x2.8.as I found that the x3 I was using picked up the pixels on the monitor but focused in on the x hairs nice and sharpe without the aid of my glasses.I have took the x3 lense out and I am trying to find an optician who can make a copy of the lense using my prescription if that makes sense.

    Dave

Can't you buy a cheap pair of glasses off the bay and take a lens out of them to try?

  3. After seeing Davyo thread on diy NV it got me interested. I order the parts and had a go putting it together with out trying to cut wires, but it ended up one mass of cables. I took the plunge on the second attempt and shorten the wires and it came out a bit neater. I'm very happy with the results.

I'd like to thank Davyo and others for all the help and advise that was given.

  4. I have a T38 torch and was wondering if you can alter the pill to a single high mode, the one i've got at the moment is a 3 mode IR that I'm using on a diy spotter and every time I switch it on it come's on in low mode. I just need it to be in high mode.

  5. davyo,or anyone with these scopes, do you know the eyebell diameter on the hawke hd 4-16x50,and mamba 4-16x44,im gonna get one of those housings you've seen,i don't have a vernier to measure, sorry if its a daft question,lol.........

Are these housing the ones on the bay?

  6. I know alot of you guys have built or are building a nv spotter, I'm in the middle of building one and was wondering if you use a filter of some sort over the screen/monitor to stop the glare, and if so where do you get them from?

  7. Very nice.

I did my fifth adjustable comb this week, after vowing never to do another. I then took another vow never to do another.

Used a scroll saw to cut the comb, which ended up a bit wavy. Sorted it out, but lost the odd night's sleep. Traced the problem to a new blade, which I had used to cut some plastic. The blade clogged up and made the wood cut a bit problematic.

It's great when they turn out. You seem to have it off to a fine art - I'm still a bit hit or miss. They all ended up alright, but 4 didn't go smoothly.

It takes a bit of patience and head scratching but it's worth it in the end, and you'll probably do another

  8. I made a few of these last year, I've fitted one to every rifle i've got. This is a new to me Airarms that i've made a new adjustable stock and fitted it with an adjustable recoil butt that was already on the gun when I had it, so I can use my add on night vision on any of the rifles.

Material costs was about £5 and a couple of hour's on a grinder.
