  1. I feel that when I shoot pigeons and mis sometimes it would be really helpful to go over the situation again at a later stage and ***** what the problem may have been, dwelling on it at the time will only help me miss the next one! If the camera were placed in the correct position not only could lead be looked into But also angle of shot. I feel the latter would be really useful to me personally, I'm not saying this is the Same for everyone but for me it would be good.. At the end of the a good pigeon shooting day all the shots are a blur to me, I usually hit some gooduns but also mis some easy and long shots! Say if I've had 100 shots and missed 40 of them, why is this? Wouldn't it be good to be able to review each shot to see why? Surely a slow motion shot would help highlight problems? Using this knowledge would help me learn to correct maybe a common denominator that is hindering my shot? I dunno really.......... still I'd really like to try it...... And also having some of these fantastic days pigeon shooting on film for keepsakes would be amazing...... It would be great to watch them back when I'm 90!!! Show the kids what we used to get upto back in the day :good:
  2. The point........ for me (personally) is explained in my post!! Please read Above
  3. Wow!!!!! Thanks so much for the detailed reply!!! I like the idea of having the camera attached to the gun as it would give you a real time view of lead and distance which would help as a learning tool, it would be good to reflect on shots afterwards to see where I went wrong!!! Or good to look back on those cracking shots to see the rare occasions that I get it right !!!! Anyway will look into the cameras you have mention and see what I can afford!!! Thanks for the advice, will keep you updated If I buy one. Cheers!!
  4. Hi All, Was thinking of trying to get some sort of video camera attached to my gun & wondered if any of you guys out there had done this before? i've seen loads of action cameras on the web but just wondered if there was a specific tailor made video camera & bracket designed to do the job? would just like to capture some of my shots on film both for interest and learning purposes.... any help would be much appreciated.... i need it to fit onto and over & under or a semi auto shotgun. Cheers Bren

  9. Well at the mo I'm shooting them with a .22 air rifle, I kill a few but most will take the led an run off and die somewhere else!!! And I want them for the pot!! I just thought a 9mm would do a better job than the air rifle?? The other problem is that the farm I shoot on also has a caravan site on it, so noise is a problem around the area the rabbits need sorting. If I had a choice I would be straight down there with my 12g to really do the job!!! Anyway would still like a new toy!!! Cheers guys!!
  10. Hi all, just wondered if any of you guys got an old 9mm garden gun collecting dust in the safe?? not looking for anything expensive just to bash a few rabbits around. I live in lancashire and would collect if close by. cheers guys just thought it was worth a try!

  15. Thanks guys will look into the permit scheme & won't give up....................... i will get local shooting some time in my life
  16. Great thats what i'm trying to find out, maybe the problem is just in the North West
  17. Ok is it just me or are the majority of new guns finding it really difficult to get a place on local wildfowling club??? I live in Lytham St annes so my local wildfowling club is Lytham & District wildfowling club. I have eventually after a year of trying got onto the waiting list, however, i am now told that i would be lucky to get a place within 5-7years!!!!!!!! Southport club have such a big waiting list that they are not even entertaining applications Morecambe Bay - will send out an application but say a minimum wait of 3 years ect ect ect............... BASC even told me that they could not give me any contact details of clubs or pass my details onto any clubs because they had been asked not to due to massive waiting lists!! Ok..... I have managed to get place at the Dee wildfowlers and am totally over the moon with this!! as it looks like a superb club to be a member of but its a 160 mile round trip for me!! The thing that really struck me about the Dee club was that they charged £50 to even get on the waiting list. I think this is a really good idea as it stops time wasters and also stops what i think is the main problem........... which is that everyone has put their name on all the lists they can in the hope of accepting the first place that comes up,it's my suspicion that the latter is why all the lists are so big!! would it not be a good idea for all wildfowling clubs to have a good sorting out of the massive waiting lists that have now become out of control and maybe prioritize for local people??? I really think that other clubs should take a leaf from the Dee wildfowlers book and charge to get on the list (this money is taken off your membership when you get offered a place), i really think that it would reduce the waiting times and also how many of those new guns who put their name down on the list 5-7 years ago are still shooting??? Don't get me wrong, like i said i'm over the moon with my place at the Dee but would jump at the chance of being able to shoot in my home town.
  18. Thats great!!! will give BASC a bell, i'm already on the waiting list for Lytham they say it could take 5-7 years!!! just gonna get on all the waiting lists and see which one i get the first offer from. I have managed to get into the DEE wildfowlers which seems like a really well organized club, so i can learn my skill there and then move closer when the chance comes. Thanks again Bren
  19. Hi All, Does anyone have any contact details for the following clubs? Southport wildfowlers Ribble wildfowlers Morcombe bay wildfowlers Non of these clubs are on www.wildfowling.com and none of them have a website so i'm really stuck. I would like to get on the waiting list for them so i can get some local shooting. Thanks any help would be great! P.S also if anyone knows of any more local clubs to me (Blackpool) then i would also be interested in any info
  20. sorry guys didn't mean to offend anyone with my wording!! i've changed it in the post but don't seem to be able to change the title......... Thanks for all the tips!!! ive got shooting in my blood now so won't give up!!! i will have my own land soon!!
  21. Yeah wish i had the money to buy my way in!! looking at guns on pegs i'd have to do a bank to afford it!!
  22. Hi Pf, Thanks for the reply, yes i'm on the waiting list for Lytham wildfowlers but im told the waiting list is 3-5 years!! was just trying to get some pigeon shooting locally but think i may have to join pestrid or cpsa and travel a bit. Thanks again Bren
  23. Well now i'm really frustrated!! i have now been trying to get some pigeon shooting land around Blackpool/kirkham/wesham/preston for about a year and still no luck!!!! I have asked loads of farmers and none are interested even though they have fields full of pigeons and crows!! They all say that they have got someone doing it but in a year of scanning the fields i have never yet seen one person shooting pigeons or crows yet!! sorry guys just thought i would vent my frustration to some other people who may understand me!!! The thing is that if just one farmer said yes, i would be there the next day helping protect his crops & i'm really keen to get out as much as i can. Anyway thanks for listening guys! Bren
  24. Do you need anyone else to help you, i know its a bit late but i would really be up for some shooting if you still need any? Thanks Brendan
