  1. ‘kill off a lot of Sunday once a month shooters which we don’t need’

Why don’t we need them? What’s wrong with shooting once a month, be it clays or live quarry? Some people have very busy lives, work, family other hobbies  etc and can only find time once a month. How does it harm other shooters who can spend more time shooting?

  2. Bear in mind this is in Wales.  The Welsh Government, Labour for the past 25 years, does not like guns (weapons in the article) and does not like shooting. It tried to license game bird release recently.
It would not surprise me if it saw this as a splendid idea and one to take forward, just to be awkward, to make it even more difficult for shooters.
I know the Welsh Government doesn’t make the firearms law but it might well have the ear of the next UK government. Just a thought.

Hello, does anyone believe the Labour party would do a better job if they were elected considering what has gone on with the Tory party over the last ten plus years, would starmer be the Messiah of our country 🤔

You only have to consider Wales where they been in Government since 1997 - from 1999 within the devolved Welsh Assembly. Notorious for wasting money (M4 relief road, Cardiff airport, the race track in Ebbw Vale etc). Health Boards in special measures for years with little gained. Longer waiting times and poorer choice of where to be seen. New dual carriageways with 50mph limits and from next Monday 20mph on nearly all 30mph roads. And, they still blame Westminster for all problems.

The Labour leadership often state that the UK would be better off with them in power but they choose to forget 25 years of Labour negligence in Wales.

Yes it is - the British Prime minister is in charge. The Welsh and Scots need to accept that and stop points scoring

As soon as power was devolved by Blair we were on a downhill slope. The devolved administrations will do whatever they can to be different to Westminster, as a matter of principal.

Both hitting nails on the head.

Might that not be down to the goodly amount of sunshine cleansing pathogens over there vs the almost total lack of sunlight here recently?

You have a very valid point here. All our colds, flues and the like tend to reduce significantly during the warmer months so why shouldn't Covid, it's the same type of virus.  If that is the case, good old Saudi Arabia ought to all but free of the virus with little help from its government.

We have a poorly resourced NHS, with inadequate kit, poorly paid staff and a growing demand for services.

The NHS will always be under resourced. As you say there is a growing demand for services and those services cost more, more people, a new cancer drug which gives someone an extra year with their family could cost many thousands a month but has to be found, people live longer and require far more medication than decades ago and so on. There simply is not enough resource to fund it sufficiently. Tax revenue is spent, some would say appropriately whilst others would argue wasted but whichever view there is never enough.  It's difficult for the NHS to set aside resources for the inevitable rainy day because of the need demand for today and the NHS only has the funding given to it by the government which itself has a finite tax revenue. Planning is undertaken by the NHS as far as it can but how can it prepare for every possible problem?

They've been out of office since 2010 and during those ten years since there's been Cameron, May and now the current spaff and blather merchant Johnson.

But for many of those years the Government has been working hard to repair the massive damage done to the country by the last Labour administration. Just look at the continuing mess the Labour government here in Wales continues to make; education, health, infrastructure all in a dire state with no real hope for any improvements and they've been in power for over 20years.
