I’ll pm you with data this evening. 👍

I’ve got a couple of loads for long shot & blue dot but they use plastic wads. These 2 powders are usually for 1oz + loads. Bismuth loads I have are 70mm with plas wads. I take it you’ve acquired an English 16 bore.

Saw 3 swifts this morning, usually hear them early May. Quite a few swallows too.
-
Good post! This should get interesting.
-
I can only find 1 offering for 16 bore with degradable wads, made by Hull and expensive, so lots of choice, not! Still got plenty of lead loads so will carry on.

Still available.

Canada goose is a big beast for 17 hmr. I’ve had the same experience with the shot placement you describe, shot bankside but they manage to get on the water and you have to get afloat to gather them up. I take my time now and head shoot them. They don’t like that and you will see explosive damage to the skull. Try and keep the distance down too. I don’t like shooting them with rim fire but sometimes it’s the only option. Good luck with your new rifle.

It's a win win. Cheaper food, more emphasis on environmental protection
This is a short term strategy. It’s the same as letting the supermarkets and internet suppliers dominate our shopping habits. Cheap at first, kill the competition then it’s pay back. Our farmland will no longer be for producing food but will be very profitable for those involved in carbon offset etc, it’s a modern land grab. Why not fast forward and let the likes of Bill Gates and his friends produce our sustenance in their labs! We know it makes sense for the planet. 😏

Thanks for all you’re input. I’ve decided to pass on the gun, short barrelled AYAs aren’t that rare.. As my certificate is in for renewal I don’t want to derail the process, 16 weeks isn’t that long to wait!
-
I’ve used the online forms before and kept the notifications in a file. I might pass on this.
-
That’s already been done and below that are printed notes.

I’m sure there’s a simple solution but don’t want to get the wrong side of the law especially as I’ve just put my renewal in. I’ve been offered a sxs that I like but have no more space for new entries on my ticket. Must happen a lot but not sure what to do. Thanks in advance. 👍

2 weeks and £40.

What a loss! Have you tried contacting a metal detecting club and retrace your steps?. Sounds like it would be well worth it.

Are 17 HMR non toxic
Only if you don’t get caught using it. 🤪
-
Non toxic shot if you’re going to shoot them!

simple answer, things can change in 5 years
A lot can change in 5 years. If the system is working correctly surely changes to your medical record affecting gun ownership are flagged to the police as soon as your records are updated. If at your next renewal nothing has been flagged then why would you need to bother your GP again?
-
I’m going through the same process, my last renewal asked my doctor to put a flag on my medical records highlighting I’m a gun owner. I don’t know if he provided a medical report for the police.
Got my completed form back from my GP last week, 2 week turn around. The questions on it relate to mental health/depression etc issues and is a simple yes no tick box. If any question is answered yes then further information is asked for. This is the first time a mandatory medical report has been asked for so I assume a full “drains up”, review of our medical records is required. I’ve never seen my registered GP so he doesn’t now my medical history. Let’s hope the whole process proceeds smoothly. -
Just starting the process of coterminous renewal. Got my medical form to the doctors 2 weeks ago and have heard today that I can collect it tomorrow, £40 charge. Hants police web site says 12 week turn around but email from firearms dept says I can apply up to 16 weeks in advance so my renewal will go in mid March for early July renewal date. Fingers crossed.
When I renewed last time I took some flack on here for paying £40 to my doctor for placing a marker on my records, how times have changed!

Great picture but it was probably live pigeon shooting in those days.
