Hi I am fairly new to the world of shotguns, having only used a friends 12 bore and had a lesson with a 20 bore before. I am looking into getting SC as soon as possible, and have spend alot of time looking at guns available. I plan on starting on clays until im shooting straight, then getting into wildfowling/pigeon/rabbit shooting. Im thinking of a 3 shot pump action along the lines of a mossberg as these seem very affordable from new or perhaps a new o/c with the silenced barrel, although the length seems a little off putting. How much maintenace do the semi-auto's need? Is it worth buying a cheap one? Are these guns at this price gooing to be reliable and last a long time? Or am i better buying a second hand o/u from a well known manufacturer such as beretta or browning? I have around £400-500 ish to spend, and have seen alot of guns from the £100 mark. Is there a sort of safe amount of money to spend to be sure of a safe , reliable gun? Any makes and models to stat clear of? Thanks in advance for any help

Hello everyone !! I have just joined and thought i would say hi.... Im 22 and am in the process of getting back into shooting, things going well i will apply for my shotgun license very soon! I used to shoot with an air rifle for years so the upgrade will be very exciting! If there is anyone on here who is up for joining me on some clays, or taking me out with them vermin/rough shooting or ferreting etc in the not too near future let me know Or just if you live around cornwall/devon border and fancy a pint or two and chat about shooting give me a shout!
