  2. Have to say country is a guilty pleasure although like all things theres some dross..

The gambler, Lucille by kenny Rogers.. don Williams gypsy woman, Chris Stapleton Tennessee whiskey... Johnny cash.. Jerry Reed east bound and down,,, Tim McGraw me and Tennessee.

The Charlie Daniels band - devil went down to Georgia..

  3. Sssshhh! Nothing to see here in Masham, nope beers awful, nowt doing at all..!

Glad you enjoyed your trip, the kings head is a little hit and miss (chef and brewer) so Im pleased you had a good break. Next time youre in this neck of the woods try finding the black bull in paradise its a bar attached to the main theakstons brewery that only serves ale..

The black sheep brewery bistro also serves cracking food in belting portions..

  4. Stonepark.. this is what we were wondering, all of the drivers thought they were covered but its shocked them to find out they were not, I mean if one of them had a heart attack or worse and had to be flown home the uninsured costs would be staggering.

Lloyd my old man had his Euro health card with him but still copped for some hefty prescription bills when discharged from the Swiss hospital, he was told at the time hed be able to claim them back from the insurance.. it now appears thats not the case.

  5. I'd highly doubt it, employers liababilyy is just that, cover if the employer is liable.

How can you claim they are liable if your dad became unwell?

They'd either have to do something or not do something that should be done (such as jabs if legally required etc) to be negligent.

    Sorry mate.

Yeh agreed totally on the employers liability bit. I suppose what I was wondering is in the transport industry is it common that the employer insures their staff when working abroad for the same sort of stuff personal holiday travel insurance costs?

Seems a bit stiff for the individual employees to have to take out additional insurance at their own cost when being asked to work abroad?

  6. Morning All..

Im struggling to find some clear guidance on the following circumstances and wondered if any of the PW faithful had any similar experiences..?

My old man drives coaches for a living after retiring from farming and frequently drives abroad with the coach (ski trips and the like) he had to be admitted to hospital in Switzerland due to an infection, to cut a long story short he and the other drivers believed the coach company had insurance in place for this kind of thing however it appears they do not.

Im guessing that the statutory employers liability insurance wouldnt cover this type of scenario as the infection wasnt as a result of actual work?

    Any thoughts?

  7. I would say vole, the lawn here has a few but along the ditches and dry stone wall bottoms they are riddled with them. Particularly at this time of year, great to watch the owls hunt for them.

  8. God I can't stand him... I'd do a Burnley Dave to the TV if he came on..

He spat his dummy a year or two ago at a construction industry awards do when the whole of the audience kept chirping in with "as the son of a master builder" "as an architect" "it's an amazing space"

Honestly don't know how he'd get on in the real world!

  9. That is pretty much how I feel about the current political scene in the UK.....putting Bliar and "New Labour" into Downing Street was a huge mistake.......his brand of politics destroyed the Labour Party, Brown and Millipede just put the final nails in its coffin........Corbyn is a Trot living in the past and is in denial, he does not realise the party is going nowhere with him as leader......

I honestly think the Blair type of politician sank the whole of Westminster to a new low, him and his type (include osbourne / Clinton/ merkel and any others you like) are full of spin and contempt for the electorate. They and their type are directly responsible for the rise in popularity of the Farage, Trump, Le Pen etc.

Jezza and Diane Abbott are of a similar type for me, bleat and whinge about state schools yet privately educate their own etc.

I for one will be voting for May!

  10. I can't abide the "man" as you may have guessed. Lied to get us into a ridiculous war, his smarmy smile can't hide what he is. On another continent he would be sanctioned by the UN as a war criminal. The worst type of champagne socialist ever.

He is judged by his deeds and cares not. I hope when he's truly judged he burns in hell for eternity.

Hope that clears up any misunderstanding about my thoughts on the slime ball 😊

Agree 100% Blair drove this country into recession as well as illegal conflicts all for his own ego, the man should be on trial in the Hague for the suffering caused to our armed forces and Iraqis alike!

  11. As the topic Nightmaster 800-IR for sale, I bought this brand new to use with a home brew NV set up, i used it once and couldn't get on with the home brew rig so went down the Archer route.

The NM is boxed and in perfect nick as you would expect.

  12. Love it in Torridon, we go up a lot climbing and heading out on the hills, As Mac has said head over the 'pass of the cattle' to Applecross, the food in the Inn was always worth a look. Great seafood spot a Kishorn too.

However without a shadow of a doubt one of the best meals ive eaten is slap bang in Torridon, head along the side of the loch to a little place called Inveralligin.

A dutch couple set up a little resturant in the old school house, worth booking as it only has about 15 covers, seafood straight out of the loch, a real kind of Rick Steins seafood heros place! Inveralligin is also where much of the filming for Loch Ness was filmed too.

Bit further afield but if you wanted a decent rideout then youre not that far really from the Kyle and a nip over to Skye or a look to Poolewe.
