  4. Hi all and a big thank you to everyone who has replied to my post. I too think its a Roy Manson. Ive zoomed in a bit on the signature and it certainly looks very similar.

I have been doing a bit of research on the old guy we bought the house from and he was in the Raf around 1960 working as an engineer so must have travelled a bit.

Was it wrapped in pretty paper….. Yes you got it!! ha ha …..

seriously I can’t read the signature but there are  several apps that can search for artists signatures and Google can search for images worth a try unless it was next to a tray of Swiss chocolates. Just like the boxes we used to buy every year in the seventies for our Aunty.I knew one person who used cut out picture chocolate box covers and framed them…. Sad oh so very Sad. His excuse was he was a child in the war and they never threw anything out!

Interesting might try that one thankyou👍

  6. Bought the house im in coming up to 3years ago and found this painting in the attic. Its in good condition in a cardboard  tube and painted on canvas. I cant really make out the artists signature and know absolutely nothing about paintings. Any help of its  value appreciated. Im already thinking about handing my notice in and retiring next week! Your thoughts gentlemen👍

Really in the industry ? Tele metrics …… (telematics). Bimbo in the office, that’s showing respect isn’t it. Get treated like humans by amazon, highly unlikely.  Do you know anybody who’s had this letter off the govenment? Am wondering when to expect mine 😂😂

Yes i had the letter yesterday, im still in the game (but i dont suppose the government realise it) it was saying theres never been a better time to be a hgv driver now theres better conditions pay etc blah blah. Yes i got a decent pay rise but this is not before time. Lots of companys out there still taking the proverbial, there now the ones looking for drivers. 😃

Went for my medical yesterday and have just sent off the forms for provisional. Should get that on about two weeks, then I can book into a training centre and get the theory parts done.

At the moment, i’m studying via online resources and a DVSA handbook.

Regarding the streamlining of tests, There is new legislation coming so new HGV drivers can go straight to C+E testing. Not sure how I feel about that… i’d rather get a bit of driving experience with a rigid 7.5 ton first tbh.

Hopefully that will be an option.

Passed c+e in 2006 a bit of advice is make yourself a member of trucknet its a wealth of info for the newbie drivers👍

Regardless I can see the going on strike.

The support from nurses for a strike will be massive.

Regardless of what they are paid they wanted a golden handshake for “stepping up” and are now fuming that they aren’t getting a fat pay rise for their work.

Some of the band 6 discharge managers in my old job are on social media in a raging fury. Like I said earlier, they have no front line care duties, they sit in an office phoning social workers asking how the discharge plans are coming along and bouncing around chasing people up. On £38k a year but are in a fury that they haven’t had the 12.5% rise.

That’s besides the point that the NHS got a private company in to do all the discharges (where they illegally sent a load of people to care homes against their will) 🤦‍♂️

Once again the NHS is being pushed as an organisation that is immune from fair criticism. That just leads to poor outcomes for patients and everyone involved.

Ive full respect for anyone and all that have been working through the pandemic no matter what they do and I couldnt have put it any better myself, well said that man 👍

  13. I cancelled mine 7 years ago now, wont ever give them a penny, as long as you dont watch or record live tv or bbc iplayer you do not need one

.Ive had a few letters but no visit yet, if ever they do ‘knock at the door’ i will open it ask what they want then slam it in their face end of. Not one bit of communication with them at all, i wouldnt even ring them up to confirm i dont need a license just let them waste money posting threats to me.

Saved myself about a £1000 already cant believe anyone would be bullied into paying these scam licenses in 2021.

Apart from anything else, I think the BBC is a vile organisation, they send intimidating letters out to everyone, threatening debt collectors and legal action and send people out, demanding to be let in to their homes to anyone who doesn't pay for a licence, including those who legally don't need one. It's amazing it's allowed to go on in todays age, it is effectively state sponsored intimidation, with a presumsion of guilt.

    Here here well said👍
