  1. Regarding the Lambton Team Shoot on the 28th & 29th April, I understand that due to the high level of rainfall recently, it's likely that a 'transport system' could be put in place. This means that everyone's cars will be parked up and some sort of 'shuttle' will transport people from one stand to the next. I would be prepared for this eventuality.
  2. I'm looking forward to the shoot next weekend but my #1 shooting event of the year is the shoot on the 16th & 17th June. Fewer teams, more relaxed and with penalty and bonus exploding clays. It's a lot of fun!
  3. I know what you mean but it's not just about the clays, the overall event is more polished and, with fewer teams, there's less of a wait at the stands. Altogether a more relaxed event; I'm entered and so are all of my friends who shoot.
  4. Plastic wads are the order of the day at Lambton. Is anyone entering the Lambton Charity Shoot on the first weekend of June? I can't get enough of shooting at Lambton and this one's made better by the fact that it's limited to a maximum of 50 teams per day.
  5. They're not the cheapest but I've been using Hull Sovereign 24g/28g plastic wads and I'm very happy with them. A good friend has suggested that I try out Fiocchi but not sure which one. I occasionally use Gamebore Black Gold but find them a little punchy and the Sovereigns more comfortable. I've never thought about reloading my own but I would imagine if you're going to do that, it would be best to try a variety of 'pre-loaded' cartridges to identify the characteristics you like/don't like. I think the choice depends on what kind of shooting you're doing and how many you're putting through the barrels in a day. I can end up going through 3-500 in a day so am usually looking for comfort without sacrificing performance.
  6. Excellent shoot with challenging targets. The weather was excellent so, all round, a great day out.
  7. I'm taking part at this clay shoot for the first time on Sunday and was wondering if anyone else is or has as well. I'm looking forward to it and it would be interesting to have some background or top tips. http://www.azerleyclayshoot.co.uk/about-us
