  1. Well, its a very small tub, bulldog, and the lid aint all that big, but errrr, to do what you say to do im gonna need a better method, my gun is quite heavy and keeping it steady is a pain, need to think of some way to hold it in 1 exact position each time i make an adjustment to the wheels or it all seems pointless, any advice there would be appreciated guys, i do have a workbench and vice but that seems a bit of an awkward way to do it, how much are these bipods ive heard all about ??
  2. anyone else here in Cumbria, near Barrow, gimme a shout, be nice to get to know members in my area.
  3. turned the mounts round, front to back, etc, and resat the scope and all was good, close enough as its ever gonna be anyway without getting a secure gunpod, i can hit the small round lid of my pellet tub from 30 yards no probs every time.
  4. scopes sorted, thanks to the guys that helped
  5. i looked at the cheap end BSA`s and the Cometa packed more power than them, hence why i got it, i think you need to be looking at maybe a lightning if you want a reasonable BSA at a low price, and i agree with the Rattie, too small, hated it, itd probably blow away in the wind.
  6. Just to add, i picked up my 2nd air rifle today, a Cometa 300, unbelievably accurate and powerful, and yep, i hold my hands up, it does kinda make the B2 feel like a spud gun. Weighing in at around £110, th eunsilenced version weighs around 7lbs and packs a fair punch, very nice to fire, i can imagine that hunting pellets could make a mess of quarry with this gun, so i wouldnt use anything pointed, only downside is the gun and mechanism is quite heavy, breaking the barrel is quite tough, though im told this will get easier with time. All in all. 8 out of 10, after firing my smk and cometa, i can see ghow much more of an impact the cometa will make, i think its just around the legal limit too, about 12lbs, very nice, has anyone else had one, please tell what ya think fellas ?.
  7. As a newbie, i started with a budget air gun, the SMK B2 Custom, and although everyone seriously thinks these guns are rubbish, with my Richter scope on it, im impressed at how accurate and deadly it is at around 50 yards, and to be honest, id probably be closer to the quarry than that when shooting anyway, so, although they aint the best weapon in the world, by all accounts, the B2 is a fantastic gun, and for around £100, the Xs range are a fantastic gun too, and get great reviews, i have to add, i played with a ratcatcher, and hated it, was small, almost toy-like and just didnt feel like a gun at all, and i seriously cant see how it could be of any use to anyone hunting, the b2 custom by far came out better than it. My advice would be aim for a BSA, probably the best on the market, but for what youre looking to spend, go for the XS and make sure it has a silencer fitted, and spend the extra on accessories, decent scopes are everything, my richters have a laser fitted and are absolutley amazing, 50 yards i can hit the dot bang in the middle of the target with standard bulldog pellets. Good luck, would love to hear anyone elses experiences with SMK weapons.
  8. LOL, cheers guys, unfortunatley. there is no airgun clubs i know of around here, its a faunny area, air rifles are frowned upon, people insist you buy a shotgun, get an fac and go duck or deer hunting, of which i have absolutley, no interest, I love my airgub, very budget, SMK B2 Custom, with Richter scopes, and seriously under rated, this thing would nail anything on the pest list, im sure of that, but im not looking to go straight out and start nailing crows, ive got a load of printed targets and stuff, and thats what ill concentrate on, find a place to shoot and hone my skills, my mates have guns, ill get out with them when i can, i just studied the legalities mainly to make sure i didnt leave myself open to arrest or prosecution if i shot a bird not on the list or was to close to a road or something, very strict now the laws and i think everyone should know the law before they go shooting anyway. But thanks guys, im impressed by this community, and looking forward to chatting more with ya all, i deffo new, but im always open to free criticism or advice if anyone has anything that may help, and tips and tricks would be gratefully accepted too
  9. As a Noob to shooting, i have done a lot of studying up on the laws, legalities, and available quarry to myself, the problem i am having, is finding somewhere to shoot, all i come across is cloth-eared farmers whom try to persuade me to buy a shotgun and join a club and get an FAC. Im not interested in doing that, i just want a casual, less expensive sport to keep me busy now and again, does anyone have any advice, or, does anyone know how i can find any avail shooting spotys or clubs in the area i live in, Barrow in furness in Cumbria. I do have a car, so i can travel a bit. cheers
