  1. I worked with someone who had £50,000 invested in bonds. He did have other investments but saw the bonds as a no risk safe place to put away a bit cash that could be accessed easily if needed.

What is he likely to need when he gets out of hospital.

Are you wanting to get him a nice to have present or maybe something to help him if he is left with a problem from the stroke.

Perhaps Hawkeye could discuss it with Jackie and get a bit feedback.

Is there anywhere to get a pcp from during lockdown? All my local dealers are shut in the Newcastle area.

Perhaps tomorrows announcement will hopefully allow some shops to open with restrictions in place.

Would a German citizen risk of being sued if another person fell over and claimed that the area had been improperly cleared?

That question I can't answer. I just remember from my time in Germany having to clear the snow from the paths around the barracks and the NAAFI shop, then putting down loads of grit.

I know we shouldn't resort to national stereotyping but the Germans really and truly like their stereotype. They have a huge sense of civic awareness and responsibility. I can give you an example, when it snows EVERYBODY comes out and clears the roads and the pavements. Nobody tells them to, they just do it.

They do it because they have to. The Germans have a Law/Rule called street cleaning statute, it compels property owners to clear snow from the front of their property. If you go on holiday you have to allocate responsibility to someone.

They do however seem to show more responsibility for elderly family members. I seem to recall they had 99 year mortgages for buying family homes and I often saw 3 generations living in the same property.

  6. on his paperwork it says 2nd mile and half 10mins

    60 press ups in 2mins

    100 sit ups 2mims

8 chin ups on command and level 13 for bleep test

    pretty tough

It is pretty tough, but I've seen people pass them type of tests and then when they've been all wet and muddy lose the will to live and then call it a day.

  7. Royal Marines do the hardest basic training of any forces, if you think its all just about being fit then think again. In some intakes its the fittest that fail to earn a green beret. Having the right mental approach is almost as important, the ability to keep going in the worst conditions sometimes while injured is what sorts marines out from the wannabes.

  8. My permission from the farmer only allows me to shoot when my mate accompanies me. But he can't be bothered shooting very often, so I can't get out and get some practice in. Just to add my mate has worked for the farmer for over 20 years and the farmer has only known me for less than 6 months, however he has said that once hes known me for a while he'll allow me out and about by myself. So in the meantime I'd like to get a bit of range time in.

Britain isn't the only country to take in prisoners from the special court, Australia, Canada, usa, Sweden have also taken in prisoners. So are these countries #### ######## ########.

  10. I made comment several times on the last thread, in which you asked for opinions. I don't suppose they have changed. I felt the keeper wasn't out of order to deduct the birds shot, so for me again a refund less the birds shot. The fact the day did not come up to expectations doesn't alter the fact that birds were shot and to be paid for.

That sounds to me like a fair compromise.

  11. If you already have permission to shoot somewhere get farmer/landowner to write letter stating that he wants vermin/deer/fox to be controlled by you. Fill in FAC application and put down details of your permission. Any problems filling out application there are plenty on here who can help you out.

  12. Looking for someone who needs a hand with vermin control in northumberland. Unable to offer any shooting in return but can offer a few trips out trout fishing and maybe a boat outing. I am ex-forces and can provide a copy of my discharge documents which rates my service and conduct as exemplary. Also available is a reference from my current employer and a CRB check. Also happy to help out with any graft that needs doing. I have FAC and

SGC and I am insured PM any questions you may have.
