Went out with the hmr on Saturday and had an unsettling experience. Now before I put the bolt in I always have a quick look just to check there's nothing down the barrel that shouldn't be there. After setting out a few of my favourite targets (Satsumas)and getting comfy I took my first shot, bang-whizz, target explodes but this was immediately followed by a loud fizzing noise and lots of smoke coming from the SAK moderator. After all the fizzing and smoke had stopped I unloaded and carefully unscrewed the SAK, I was really expecting the insides of the moderator to fall out, in bits, into my hand but nothing happened. Everything appeared normal so after checking and refitting I continued to shoot and had no futher trouble. Any ideas what it could have been?

I had a 4.0 petrol which was good enough off road for anything I wanted to do.
It ate its way through a few brake calipers and the drivers heated seat stopped working but the worst thing about it was the very vague steering bloomin terrible.
Apart from that it wasn't a bad car to drive.

I remember Winchester's words of wisdom shortly before he stopped posting on here, that if you are ever faced with the public (dog walkers / ramblers etc) the best thing to do is unload and walk in the opposite direction. Never engage in conversation as things can go horribly wrong

I think if it was a mink all your hens would've been killed - get the holes boarded up asap

I bought a 2002 td5 but got rid of it after only 10 months - far too many problems/niggles and corrosion

we supposedly encourage people to ask questions no matter how daft they may seem and when someone does, they get lambasted and ridiculed. a great encouraging response for any newcomers.
I think this forum is great but there are some self righteous holier than thou types who perhaps might benefit from engaging brain before opening gob and I'm not referring to the original poster.
Couldn't agree more

I can never get anywhere near the crows when I'm out with the hmr, they fly off as soon as they spot you(hundreds of yards away) but this one was too pre-occupied.Taken at 120 paces
