  1. Like beretta said, personal preference. I shot wide ish parallel ribs for quite a while. Changed to a slim tapered rib 11-7mm. Didnt like it when I first looked down it, felt really wierd, but my shooting improved a lot. Wouldnt shoot a wide parallel now, seem to make the barrel look shorter when ou are looking down it in comparison. Just on my second 11-7 rib now. No doubt there will be people for which the reverse is true. :good:

  2. Anyone know a good place to have a grind to fit (kick eze) pad fitted with a quick turn around (while you wait preferably):good:. Bought a new Perazzi a couple of weeks ago, although the gun handles brilliantly, it has been ruined by a rubbish rock hard pad, with a slippy leather covering. Got a couple of important (to me) competitions looming and dont want to part with the gun for any length of time. Preferably around the Midlands or Wales. Any ideas guys?

    Cheers, Sid

  3. UT and OT I have untill recently used 1/2 and full. Just changed gun and its the usual fixed 3/4 and full. Depends on your shooting style a little ie. If you shoot your first barrel quickly half is good, if your a little slower then perhaps 3/4. Really dont think it makes a huge difference, you would be hard pushed to see a difference in kill quality between 1/2 & 3/4, but wouldnt open up any more than half. :good:

  4. Just spoken to BICTSF rep for Universal Trench John Nightingale. The British UT GP at Nuthampstead on the 29th/30th August will DEFINATELY run the two disabled classes 'Seated' and 'Standing'. More efforts will be made this time to ensure people placed in correct categorys.. e.g Seated will mean Wheelchair/scooter users only. But bear in mind it is early days yet so we all have to bend a bit as its all a learning curve. Trophys have been purchased so there is no going back.. just need plenty of entries..Its great that the BICTSF support disabled clay shooting, even if other associations are not so keen.... see you there!

  5. Thats a new one on me, a couple of my local dealers say the cynergy action is built like a tank. I had a cynergy black ice, it was excellent and I regret selling it. Trigger pulls are about as good as you will get in that price range. I havnt tried the Prevail yet, but have had quite a few berettas, 687el, 686e, 304, DT10 and have never had a problem with them either. :good:

***EDIT*** Just remembered I think there were the very occasional Cynergy that gave problems when they were first released, but they sorted the problem quickly.

  7. 2002 Beretta DT10 Trap gun, cased with tools and spare beads/pins. Choked 1/2 and full (regulated by Teague). Lovely woodwork, only 2 marks on stock. Easyhit bead fitted.. easily removed. Bores perfect, no play in action. Reluctant sale, but time to move on. Lovely handling gun, so much so its the only gun I use on clays now, dont even bother getting my sporter out for esp. This was my dream gun so gutted to see it go.

Cert holders only, f2f only. £2750 ovno

  8. Well im completely consumed by Olympic trench, and I would love to compete at an international level, and the thought of one day achieving it keeps driving me. Will I ever get there.... who knows.... doesnt hurt to set your sights high (If you will excuse the pun). Gonna be a lot of fun trying.

  9. hello mate, welcome to PW.

heres a few grounds you might like to try out:-

Crynant shooting ground, Portalbot. 01639 881185

dovey valley shooting ground, llanwrin. 01650 511252

    woodland park, brecon. 07811 189431

    south wales 2000,blackwood. 01495 201182

i shoot at south wales 2000 and treetops.

south wales has everything you could ever need. covering every disciplin and tree tops has an awesome sporting shoot.

I shoot SW2000 a fair bit too.. You ever seen the trapshooter there in the wheelchair?

  10. Tried most things, best so far is Yamaha Rhino 660. Close second is polaris ranger. Ranger has very slightly smoother ride, and more room, but rhino goes like stink, and is small and agile. Liked the argo 6x6 I had but it was high maintanance and bit on the slow side. Kawasaki mule.. I had one a few years ago, it was slow underpowered and suspension seemed almost non existent. In all fairness they have changed a fair bit now though. Kubota Ok but limited suspension travel, big, and slow top speed. I know they ar'nt meant to be speed merchants, but If you need to travel between pieces of land on the road 25mph will get on your tits! Rhino did 45mph standard, spent £110 on an aftermarket CDI to open the speed limiter out, now does 52mph 2 up on the flat, steady as a rock... Handy! :good:

  11. This probably isnt much help, and doesnt adresse the issues, but do you ever shoot at South Wales 2000 shooting ground? Its about 45 miles from bristol, but I know they cater for Cardiff uni club. If you do have potentially large groups they can certainly cater for you, and a little chat with Mr and Mrs Amodeo about the situation MAY get a reduced bulk student deal, especially if you shoot during the week. Doens'nt help with the travelling problem I know, but it is an excellent ground.
