Gullible young fools!
All wives have a formula for calculating their husbands' true expenditure on personal purchases. For standard items, they divide the figure given by four and multiply the result by 10. For cars, they then add 5%. For fishing rods and guns, they then take £5 and £50 respectively which is then multiplied by the number of years they've been married and add it to the standard item figure. They then apply a fiddle factor but I'm damned if I've been able to fathom that bit out yet!
This is probably the most important thing I've learned in my short 33 years on this earth!!

I'm going to have a lesson with a clays coach very soon so I don't develop bad habits and to be honest I'm not very good.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good coach in the North East area, don't mind a travel for a good 'un.

Well, had it out yesterday for it's maiden voyage up at the place Shaun4860 helps run and it felt really good!
The idiot holding it needs a hell of a lot more practice but you can't blame that on the gun!!

Hi folks,
Eventually got my first gun today!
A new Beretta SP1 sporter 30" barrels.
Managed to try before I bought it and it felt really good, especially after the club coach put my rubbish mount technique right!!
Looking to go out tomorrow to start practicing.
And I even managed to fool the wife about the price!

Hiya,
I'm impatiently waiting for my SGC and thought I'd say hello, hello!!!
Once I'm up and running I'll be touring around some of the clay grounds to say hello and see who has the easiest set-up for a beginer! haha!

Halfway down the bank towards the Times Inn pub theres a turn on righthand side into the woods, you got to be there before 9.30am as they lock the gates.
Andy
Cheers for that, got it marked for when my SGC eventually comes through!

I'll hopefully be getting out to a few local places soon (Gateshead). Can somebody tell me where the Springwell and Times Inn clubs actually are?

Thanks everyone! I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say.
It does seem very very well made so I may as well drill another couple of holes, I'm going to use resin anchors I think to fix it. The wall itself is 18" thick stone but I can't see what size of stone I'd be drilling into, if you know what I mean so better with the chemical fixing.
They come in packs of 5 from screwfix anyway so better safe than sorry!
Thanks again

Thanks reggiegun. That's what I'm worried about.
The hinges are welded not bolted if that makes any difference but I'll need to check with my FEO I think.

Hiya,
I'm looking for a bit of gun cabinet advice please.
My Father-in-law has given me his old custom made shotgun cabinet to help get started shooting. It had been okay'd in my area (Tyne and Wear) years ago when he lived here but I want to make sure it will be acceptable before I fix it to the wall.
It has 2 5-lever BS3261 locks and is definitely at least 2mm steel continuous welded and weighs a ton but the hinges aren't internal and it only has 2 central holes in the back to fasten to a wall, will this be enough or do you need at least 4?
A couple of pics to show what I mean.
