  1. When I went about twenty years ago it was like Cranfield said, they were so appreciative of any tip. you couldn't spend your money, I swapped my money with the beach life guard, who also sold me cd's, and if it was wet would call his mate at the other beach,( he would close his beach) and he would come and taxi us privately into Bourgas and shadow us round the shops and the markets each day, stepping in when we were about to get a bad deal, he even took me to a few local gunshops to look at pistols and Kalashnikovs , all marked in dollars for sale.

Great days but wouldn't go back now.

  2. On Friday it was mince, it took an hour to cross Perth and get in from the A9 roundabout at 9.20, and the same back again at 3.30 home, best go straight through the town I'd say.

Take plenty of dirty shoes, everyone wants to shine your shoes this year ***.

  3. It took to post 60 until my favourite Eka popped up.

Ive had one of their super swedes for 30 years now and its still my top knife.

Handed it to a stalker once, and during the gralloch he kept butchering until he ended up with the bladder bag cut off intact and full, he was very impressed.

Other than that I have a couple of Buckmarks from Cabelas and a Boar bush knife, all honed on Waterstones of course.

  4. Most of the kit labelled Barbour International, is cheaply made fashion items similar to BHS quality, the wax jackets that are Barbour and do not have the international part are ok and last well.

Though Barbour would be my last choice, I would opt for Musto or Le Chameau, or maybe Harkila if my bonus stretched, and I do have a nice Paramo jacket for fishing that I would not put near a thicket

  5. It is perfectly true that for the beginner to intermediate shooter a gun fitter is the best bet initially but make no mistake if you approach 4 different experts you will get 4 slightly differing prescriptions ;) and besides there isn't a man on this earth that could tell you the pitch you need by watching you mount :hmm: as some things simply need to be decided upon by the shooter himself and through live firing.

Hence you'll find the more advanced shots tend to self diagnose their own requirements in a way a gun fitter never could and that very much has come through trial and error.

^^^^^^^^^ Listen to this above, he knows good stuff.

To buy yourself look on Brownells site in the US, will cost you about £70 from memory. If it's a beretta you will need to make the stock bolt semi fixed in place and fillet a piece of wood in as the saw cut leaves a hole, look s ok if it's diamond shaped.

  6. You will get limited success, and comparing between using decoys and calls and adding an Owl wont make much difference.

After owning my Owl for 30 years its not worth the fuss, to be truthful I wonder how many Crows have actually seen an Owl let alone a giant one, as Owls are mainly night birds here, if you could get a Buzzard in a decoy or a floater that might work better.

  7. can you explain why the picture of the priest is on the tree?

go to post 25 and draw another red circle to the right of the existing one and touching it...... the priest is on the right of the new circle on the tree trunk ,,,,,,, very odd

I can see him also but that's not a priest on the log, that's Tam Scott he was buried on Inchmurrin,

  8. Its because you are a subject of the Crown they can force this.

Only way out is if you are a, something else with a Crown on it, I was excused as I was an HMP Prison Officer(15 years I done), or anything with civil duties to carry out.

Oh and anyone appearing from custody is guilty, just so as you know.

  9. My housekeeper got me a rake of blades and a handle from Clean Shaven, initially it looks like a good deal but comparing it to Gillette on offers there is no comparison, it looks a similar product but cheaper, the shave is close but I'd say grows back quicker
