Yes it was but I mainly use a 20 bore because we do a lot of walking.  Shot a friends CG and was blown away by it quality wise , I use the CG mainly on Pigeons sat in a hide and it is superb.

Sounds great, looks like I’m going to have to look properly at a CG 🤦🏻‍♂️

  2. Evening, I currently shoot a Browning Ultra XS Pro, lovely gun…but does it make me smile when I get it out the cabinet…no! It’s functional! I was going to go for a Crown version but I had my head turned by a Caesar Guerini Maxum limited edition that’s case hardened! I can’t shoot it because it’s brand new…

Does anyone own a Caesar Guerinin Maxum or other model? Them seem better put together than some of the latest brownings ( I need to stop being a fan boy of browning ) any thoughts or do I stick with functional & boring…!

  3. Hi, selling my HMR as I no longer use it.  Shes  an ideal starter rifle that is a tack driver! I have mounted a RIS rail from a savage arms so you can swap quickly for NV or mount lamps etc. She works perfectly. She will come with the following.

    1 x Rifle.
    1 x SAK Moderator & cover.
    1 x Deben bipod.
1 x Hawke Endurance 30 3-12x50 L4Dot IR (complete with case) scope is like new.
    2 x five shot mags
80 x Rounds of Hornady VMAX & Ammo carry case.
1 x set of extra scope mounts (new)
    1 x Cleaning rod.
1 x set of sling swivels, sling included but not in pics.

    £210 buys it.

For an extra £100 I can throw in a Aim 50 Drag bag. I will not sell this until the rifle goes first.

You must have a slot for this rifle + the moderator & Ammo. Prior to purchase I will need to see proof of certificate & proof of identity & address. Then a face to face call prior to sorting a collection point.

    Located near Cirencester.

All XS Pro Crowns are HP steel shot proofed it was the original 525 ‘The Crowns’ in F/C (1/2&1/2) that weren’t.

Is it the wood or the engraving that attracts you to the XS Pro Crown? I have an XS Pro with absolutely incredible woodwork

It doesn’t affect their capability of course, just their resale value. Nephew had his Teagued and proofed for HP steel at a cost of about 600 quid.

Teague to the rescue, I think if I’m going to be spending near £5k for a gun I would like it to be HP proofed. Happy new year scully 🙌🏻

Be aware that if you find one, and such things are important to you, that not all are steel shot proofed.

Thanks scully , I was under the impression that the XS PROS including the The crown are! Better do some more home work!

They are indeed very well made, my shooting mate has one, a brand spanker from Kelbrook.

I really ummmd and arrrrrrrd about buying a brand new gun, because of what others above have said, you pay a lot but don't get a lot back! Personally my Browning was a good price for me came with all the bells & whistles. My shooting has 100% improved since swapping it for my Beretta. At the end of the day we are all little gun tarts who like the latest shiny gun, if you can afford it and it makes you smile when you use it, buy the gun with the 32" barrels & super tight chokes, you will leave this mortal coil at some point! might as well enjoy your time here.
