  1. right i have a little 150cc quad that i have kitted out with a metal frame on the front with plumbers foam rapped round to shoot off with a lamp attached. also got a basket of the back for the rabbits.

i am think of making 2 holders for the rifles (.17 and .22) just like a U-shaped piece of metal with foam rapped around and make it tight fitting so the guns don't move around.

i was just wondering what you guys think. as i'm kinda worried the scopes might get knocked out of zero if travelling over rough ground by been bounced about???

  2. 12 may is rook day, or so they used to say, so if you say there 2 wks late mate 26 may they should on the branches, I shot half doz on the 5 may around here which would make un few days early

yeah i'm i little bit further north but yeah it won't make much of a difference, i'm guessing they will be out by now which is a shame, will have a look on the 5th when i finish my exams, fingers crossed there is still some about on branches, if not im sure i will still shoot them in farmyard

  3. They are out and flying! Have been for about three weeks here. Iv decoyed a few already

really! i havn't seen any around me the parents are still feeding them at the nest. they must be close to coming out then

  4. Hi guys, when do you think the young will be out of the nest? As every thing seems to be 2/3 weeks behind this year . Have any of you seen them out on the branches yet?

As I haven't got chance yet to go and have a look as i'm revising for A levels. My last exam is on 5th so hoping they come out than.

  5. just wondering if anyone had tried an owl decoy for attracting crows into it? ive heard if the crows see any big bird of prey they will come down and mob it,i was up on the shoot today having a mooch round when i put a buzzard out of a tree, as it got higher there was crows all over it so got me thinking lol if its true i might order one but i just thought id ask .

    cheers

    biffyboy

i tried it last Friday with a plastic little owl and a carved wooden barn owl, put the little owl on a fence post and the barn owl on the floor with a dead jackdaw at its feet with some feather pulled out

it worked a treat got 1 rook and 8 jackdaws. the didn't mob it really just circled above it about 40 feet up. i was just sat in the farms bonfire heap, i made a hide out of a few pallets and pushed all the other stuff up against it.

  6. Ok, slap on my wrist. Is there some thing prominent that will distinguish kits and leveretts apart?

    don't worry about it,

    rabbits are small than hares

rabbits are a browny/grey while hares are orange/ginger

hares have longer and thinner legs than rabbits

and hares normally have a black tip on the top of their ears while rabbits dont

  7. I knew it was a young one, just never heard leverett before.

I'm expecting some critism about the young one. A the end of the day it's my call, be it right or wrong in other peoples eyes. I will leave it at that before a rant surfaces.

On another note, is that squirrel quite big? Or average? Ad he took both barrels! Tough nut.

a leveret is a baby hare

  8. The reason they wear hi-viz orange is to hide the blood streaks and its easy to see if you need to hose down your pants afterwards.

Good job I was not to his left otherwise he might have been wearing an imprint of my butt pad on his forehead for the next week!

Like others I agree its more sporting for the birds rather than some of the UK drives where the 'guns' have at least two guns and a loader with them.

haha :) yeh i agree with you mate

  9. good shooting fella. i notice that some of the pro's use orange clays and don't throw them very far :good:

Thanks :) and yeah i will keep them closer and i cant use orange it stands out to much after they have been shot, got to keep the farmer happy

If you want to make these clay shooting videos look really impressive why not try these: http://www.firebirdt...o.uk/index.html

Not too cheap but there would be no arguing about if you hit the clays or not. I'm actually thinking of trying some of the rifle targets for when we go to the quarry and do some longer range shooting, maybe 300 to 400 yards - They will show either a definite hit or a complete miss as there doesn't seem to be any half way with them.

yeah i have seen them, if i get a bit of spare money i might try some for one video

Bit to go before you get to Herb Parson`s standard !

haha i know mate got to start some where :)

Good vid. Camo Maxus is it?

yeah great gun best £1000 i have spent

  10. get some flys shot. i love it ,nice little red holes in paper, not just the once thow, again and again, then you find out how good you realy are...

i will do if i get time at school now so busy with homework

too much time on your hands there pal!!

    regards

    greeny

yeh i did it was in the school holidays but back at school now so busy with homework :(

  11. i will try and light a match, got loads of trick shots lined up and yeh i was thinking about editing it out but i kept it in so people knew that i didnt move the gun further back to make the shot look better but i will edit it out in future videos

Thanks guys for the feedback :)
