  2. suffolk tjw I take it u are around the ips' area ,if so Dive Line off spring Rd ips not only refill but do bottles as well, use them for my re fills and tests.also have a look in Stuart Clays woodbridge they keep a good range of s/h springers and PCPs
  3. I wish, would be a nice bonus (Purdy maybe)
  4. Hi all ,some advice please,my son inlaws uncle has just died and during the house clearance he came across 3 boxes of 16g cartridges in the garage, all are 2 1/2" ,1 box with 24 shells in are Holland & Holland "super 16" 6shot,1 full box and 1 of 24 shells Eley Grand Prix 26.6g 8 shot ,all are plastic case and look in good condition, question is are they worth anything, anyone help please,Terry
  5. or go on EBay and search ,"dippas" and it comes straight up and Rapid Basher wait your turn,my add' was first
  6. Beware Dennys Dippas, they will cost you a lot of money !!!! I ordered one but due to and admin mistake got 2 !,contacted Mr D and told him and was told as it it was his mistake that I should keep extra one ! but my problems only just started ! I took them out today and set them up amongst 30 shell decoys and a manual flapper, this is in a field that I shoot quite often and get 15/20 a time (good standby if nothing else doing),only took 1 box of cartridges (+ some loose ones in bag) out of car, this was at 8am ,by 9am I had to rush back across field to get 2 more boxes,by 1pm I had shot out this lot and couldn't be bothered to get more as I now had to carry my gear + 58 pigeons back to the car (cheated and drove Disco around headland) So because of my 2 Dippas I used 50 extra cartridges today,so if you buy a Dippa be prepared to shoot more pigeons and use more cartidges ,oh the cost! Sorry all but as you can tell I'm very impressed with DD's,these are well made and work well, only comment I will add is that you have to find the right thickness spring to fit onto the peg, tried the ready made spring pegs but decoys loll about all over the show, even with tape around, found a 8mm dowel peg is best with a fairly strong spring ( you know its right when you put a decoy on and wobble it and it dont fall over sideways)also found rechargeable batteries give my 2 full days shooting between charging (Maplin Electronics are doing 4x 2000mA AA batts' for £4.99) also once you have set them up put a small Tye Wrap around spring clips, saves having to set them up again in the field after transport All in all, well pleased very good bit of kit at sensible price, thanks Mr D keep up the good work ,Terry
  7. Like what? 4 wives ? thats no benefit
  8. Hi I use one of these from Deben Shooting Supplies (http://www.deben.com/headwear.html)at only £5.95 they are a great bargain, not too stuffy to use in summer and keeps the chill off of your face in winter, nice and light and scrunches up into a small ball to put in your pocket, dont know if our sponser supplies these but worth an enquiry * have just checked UK SW does in fact stock these * Terry
  9. As Chrispti says if you have ever sat opposite anyone in a hide without a face veil on they stick out like a sore thumb ,yes I know if you sit rock still it shouldn't matter but how many of us do ?,in my own case I do wear one mainly because having a duff knee means I have to sit and shoot so I have to have the front of the hide low enough to shoot over the top, so any birds coming in can see me straight away if I dont wear a veil, also how many of us can resist looking up at birds flying in from the side? I cant, and have spooked my share, but there you go comes down to individual choice again, try it and see,Terry
  10. I have used one very similar to this for the past 30 years and have had great success with it,my best day over beans using it was 150, pros and cons ! its light ,cheap, simple to set up and use and you can select when to flap the wings ---- you have to use a bit of field craft and study a pigeon when it comes in to your decoys and copy its landing flight, dont use rubber bands on the wing arms they'll break when you are 20 minutes into a good day.I have substituted 2 small springs instead (have so far replaced once in 30 years), use brickies line as pull cord but dont use the polyprop'one as they stretch like mad when you pull the wings, look for the braided/nylon ones ,all said now I'm no longer 30 (I wish) I have had to cut down weight carried across ploughed fields so this makes a good alternative to magnets and batteries ,my opinion for what its worth, and have pic and will take measurements if you want to have a go at making your own, good shooting Terry
