OK after Benny's proof (in the Sporting Pictures section) that a bipod definitely works for him on a springer what is everyone else's EXPERIENCE. Not so much interested in what people have heard about bipods on springers, more interested in hearing from ppl who have actually tried it themselves or had a shot of someone else's.
I've searched the forum and there seems to be lots of opinions that bipods dont work but Benny's pics say otherwise.

I have a HW 35 too and I have thought about getting a bipod to help with steadiness. I see yours is one that fixes to the barrel - whereabouts and what price?

Not illegal but not wise. A good carbine barrelled air rifle is small enough to provide a quick shot, especially using open sights at close range. I am sure it is possible to kill with an air pistol but in my opinion its not the best tool for the job. Why use 6 ft/lb and be uncertain when you can use 12 ft/lb and be sure. I can see no good argument for air pistol hunting, especially when air rifles are being manufactured more and more compactly.

Reminds me of the old joke involving Polo and Murray Mint who were out for a drink one night when Tunes started kicking off. Polo and Murray Mint walked away, why?
Because Tunes was menthol.
Its so bad its funny

Don't go saying that desperado! I have my reputation to keep.
Its ok I say that to everyone on here to make them feel good

They went further down in my estimation when they pursued a police officer for 2 years through to the high court when he used a spade to put a cat out of its misery following a collision with a car. This officer sought advice from his supervision, and tried to get in contact with them, but they were unavailable.
A vet who gave evidence at tried said that it's back end was "flattened" and he did the kindest thing.
Had he left it, he could have been guilty of neglect!!
I don't know how to post a link, but Google "rspca cat police officer" and see for yourself.
Beware if you ever decide to exercise your judgement to prevent suffering. Hope you like porridge!
When my mum was a child their cat came home with only 3 legs, it had been caught in a trap or something. Anyway my grandad took it behind the shed and gave it back end of the shovel.
It was what happened back then, vets were for working animals or livestock. It is only society that has softened.
I like cats, own a cat but wouldn't hesitate to finish him off if he was suffering or beyond the help of a vet.
It is no different to finishing off a pricked pigeon or a badly shot rabbit is it?

Next we'll have the myth of the ice bullet - the perfect assassination tool!!
They tried it on mythbusters ages ago and def couldn't work. Pretty cool idea tho

I don't support BNP but they are fairly pro field sports. Also believe you should be able to shoot burglars that enter your property.
Google the BNP site for more info.

Pfffff.
Am I the only one who is totally and utterly bored by all this?
On the whole the mods do a good job and try and reign in certain threads where appropriate to save this site turning into a flame fest - but hey, that's what some people are trolling for eh?
EDIT:
If the site and it's administration are not to your liking then I suggest that you cancel your membership, ask for a full refund of your subscription fees and suggest that the mod in question have his wages docked.
I totally agree - far too many jumping on this thread and being moaning marys. As for Danger mouse - you are just trying to turn people against PW for your site. I think we would all be a lot worse off on other sites. If you don't like it, sling your hook.

You can camp in the wild - just be considerate and leave the ground as you find it. Fires are ok too as long as you are careful (goes without saying).
Only thing might be if you have your tent and its on land not quite in the wilds enough, and it is actually a farmers field (yes there are at the foot of the Ben) the farmer might not be too pleased if you camp there for a week.
If you have any experience of walking up munros I advise against taking the 'tourist' path to the top - the views aren't the best on the way up otherwise.
Have a great time

I'm too young to remember all this happening but in the garage somewhere I have some memoribilia. When I was a wee boy a friend of the folks gave me some hats to play with including, his own Petty Officer's cap, an argie fatigue cap and an RAF camo cap. Had years of fun with them
We should never forget any of these conflicts tho... B)

To be honest - I'm not really that interested in PCP, I like the fun of a springer Its not the money either, I'm more into shotguns than air rifles and I'm just wanting something to footer around with now and again, hence I've decided I don't want to spend much money.
Think I'll take the HW 35 to someone who actually knows about air rifles and see what their opinion is, it maybe only needs a new spring or summat.

I was looking at the combo Uttings have got for the .22 at £149 comes with a Hawke 4x32 Mil dot scope. (http://www.uttings.com) Am not sure as I have an old knackered HW 35 so I might find out how much it would be to get that repaired and up to hunting spec rather than shell out on a new combo. The HW 35 is about 25 years old so I like the idea of a nice new rifle
-
Does anyone on here have, or know anyone that has one of these? Thinking of getting another wee combo in the next wee while.
Opinions please
