  1. Thanks guys, helpful info Think I'll give it a go if I get round to it at some point. Cheers desperado
  2. OK after Benny's proof (in the Sporting Pictures section) that a bipod definitely works for him on a springer what is everyone else's EXPERIENCE. Not so much interested in what people have heard about bipods on springers, more interested in hearing from ppl who have actually tried it themselves or had a shot of someone else's. I've searched the forum and there seems to be lots of opinions that bipods dont work but Benny's pics say otherwise. cheers desperado
  3. I have a HW 35 too and I have thought about getting a bipod to help with steadiness. I see yours is one that fixes to the barrel - whereabouts and what price? cheers

    HW45

Not illegal but not wise. A good carbine barrelled air rifle is small enough to provide a quick shot, especially using open sights at close range. I am sure it is possible to kill with an air pistol but in my opinion its not the best tool for the job. Why use 6 ft/lb and be uncertain when you can use 12 ft/lb and be sure. I can see no good argument for air pistol hunting, especially when air rifles are being manufactured more and more compactly. Just my 2p desperado
  5. Its ok I say that to everyone on here to make them feel good
  6. When my mum was a child their cat came home with only 3 legs, it had been caught in a trap or something. Anyway my grandad took it behind the shed and gave it back end of the shovel. It was what happened back then, vets were for working animals or livestock. It is only society that has softened. I like cats, own a cat but wouldn't hesitate to finish him off if he was suffering or beyond the help of a vet. It is no different to finishing off a pricked pigeon or a badly shot rabbit is it? the man speaks wisdom desperado

    BNP Policies

I don't support BNP but they are fairly pro field sports. Also believe you should be able to shoot burglars that enter your property. Google the BNP site for more info. desperado ps. dont be taken in by their new friendly exterior
  10. I totally agree - far too many jumping on this thread and being moaning marys. As for Danger mouse - you are just trying to turn people against PW for your site. I think we would all be a lot worse off on other sites. If you don't like it, sling your hook. desperado
  11. Ok everybody take deep breaths and count to 10...
  12. You can camp in the wild - just be considerate and leave the ground as you find it. Fires are ok too as long as you are careful (goes without saying). Only thing might be if you have your tent and its on land not quite in the wilds enough, and it is actually a farmers field (yes there are at the foot of the Ben) the farmer might not be too pleased if you camp there for a week. If you have any experience of walking up munros I advise against taking the 'tourist' path to the top - the views aren't the best on the way up otherwise. Have a great time desperado
  13. I'm too young to remember all this happening but in the garage somewhere I have some memoribilia. When I was a wee boy a friend of the folks gave me some hats to play with including, his own Petty Officer's cap, an argie fatigue cap and an RAF camo cap. Had years of fun with them We should never forget any of these conflicts tho... B) desperado
  14. This is the coolest thread I have read on PW yet!!!! B) So how come you got invited by Boeing to try out their simulators? desperado
  15. To be honest - I'm not really that interested in PCP, I like the fun of a springer Its not the money either, I'm more into shotguns than air rifles and I'm just wanting something to footer around with now and again, hence I've decided I don't want to spend much money. Think I'll take the HW 35 to someone who actually knows about air rifles and see what their opinion is, it maybe only needs a new spring or summat. cheers
  16. I was looking at the combo Uttings have got for the .22 at £149 comes with a Hawke 4x32 Mil dot scope. (http://www.uttings.com) Am not sure as I have an old knackered HW 35 so I might find out how much it would be to get that repaired and up to hunting spec rather than shell out on a new combo. The HW 35 is about 25 years old so I like the idea of a nice new rifle
