Wood - you can see the pictures, I would say a 7.5/10, nothing major. What looks like a large scratch on the top of the butt is actually where the varnish has rubbed off, probably against a jacket.

Metal - The photos actually show the marks more than the eye does. Clean barrels and no pitting. Engraving of a pair of partridges on the left, a woodcock underneath and a pheasant on the right.

    Weight - 7.5 Lbs

    Pull - 14.25"

    Barrels - 27"

    3" chambers

The action is tight, the ejectors work well, it has been used but this is a quality gun.

    Chokes - Skeet x 1, Imp Mod x 1, Imp Cyl x 2, Mod x 2, Full x 1

  4. It sounds like the neck expander is pulling the brass out so far on the extraction that it is making the dimensions of the case just a little too big. As an experiment, take out the decapping pin and expander ball. Resize a fired case and see if that recycles in the rifle. If it does I would suggest reducing the size of the neck expander. I know you are using RCBS dies, but this is a common feature with Lee dies.

    Hope this helps

  5. I have a set of blued high 26mm optilock rings that will fit a set of bases. Excellent condition, but one screw missing. £30 delivered.

    also

1 set of medium height 26mm stainless rings that will fit a set of bases. One of the inserts is broken but it does not affect the useability of the item. Replacement inserts can be ordered for approx £4 if you really wanted to change it. £sold.

  6. When I wnted some 18 months ago, it took 12 months of waiting on my RFD for the back order. Then I got fed up and contacted edgar brothers direct. They wont sell to you, but they will tell you if they have any. If they do, ask your rfd or in my case sportsmanguncentre to order them for you.

Hope this helps but they are like rocking horse poo.

  11. I have used the 308 150 gr Ballistic tips in a friends rifle. Broadside shot. Bullet went in turned immediately right and ripped the haunch apart. I use the 129gr SST in 6.5 and have had a bullet enter on a broadside and immediately go up and through the spine. I do like the SST but every now and again the bullet head will do something silly. Probably something to do with the polymer tip as the Nosler also does it. I shot a roe today with the SST and it knocked it off its feet backwards. I prefer this as it drops the deer usually on the spot. This makes life easier when you are in a thick scrub environment. I have shot reds with it and it is a fantastic stopper. I shot a red with it today and the entry and exit was similar or less than a SP bullet. The only difference was that it had an additional 3/4 inch slash about 3 inches away from the exit wound. It could have been the tip, but I wont be skinning it until the 3rd so I might find out then. :good:
