  1. i hear a lot about flight lines but where i shoot there really isnt a flight line they come in from all over the place which makes it hard where to set the hide. is this just the time of year or is it just my look i get on a field where the pigeons do what they want lol.
  2. i first tried this sat morning putting one crow deek on the edge of the pigeon pattern and it seemed to work bringing both pigeons and crows in. also we had a crow caller and it seemed to bring the pigeons in dont no if this was just a coincidence will try again this sat morning.
  3. hi everyone me my mate went up our field yesterday which is now stubble. And it seems like the pigeons have become extinct !! we didnt even fire a shot where as when its was layed there were plenty about. ANY BODY ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS? any advice will be gratefully received.
  4. hi can anyone tell me whens the best time to de-breast / crown a pigeon. i went shooting last night and got back quite late so i put the pigeons i'd brought home in the fridge. I have de-breasted a couple this morning but it seemed to be hard work is this because they are cold? thanks.
  5. thanks everyone ive tried him on our walk with wings on a dummy and he's doing well. i just think he was unsure about the feathers to start with as he's never experienced them before. lets face it they feel a lot different to a dummy or a rabbit skin which he's been used to.
  6. hi there ive just started taking one of my springers pigeon shooting with me. He picks up and brings back dummys all day long but with the pigeons he finds them no problem but he keeps dropping them. It looks like he is doing this because of the feathers because you see he spitting the out.Any tips on how to get him used to the feel of a real bird would be much appreciated.I have kept a few pigeons to practice with him whilst on his walk.
  7. thanks for the reply s. i was waiting for the i shoot mine not hang them ones LOL. forgot to add if you were to sell some through a local cattle market whens the earliest you'd shoot them? people who by them probably only give them to there ferrets but maybe to eat dont want to poison anyone with to old a bird lol.
  8. hi everyone im going on my first pigeon shoot 2moro and want to try a pigeon ive shot. can you eat them straight the way or do you have to hang them for a bit like you do pheasant?
