hi spoke to my Firearms enquiry line today, and they told me that the target shooting club would not approach them to check on me, and that my conviction would most likely not stop me from getting an FAC when I would become a full memeber, but the FEO would talk to me about it. Cheers

Hi Ordnance in reply to your post on general criteria do you feel this would be a good approach. Might email my local rifle and shooting club, explaining my convictions to them, and my intrest in .22 target shooting. Also to ask to see if they would be prepared to accept me as a probationary member with my convictions, so that I can shoot and then become a full member, but still not apply for my FAC for another 3 years. i then would have been a full member for 2 an half years and an a avid shooter. All advice greatly appreciated chaps. Cheers Patrick.

Thanks everybody for the advice, will probably wait another 3 years then, just to stand a better chance, previous points 3 for not displaying an L plate on back of scooter when 16 and 3pts for carry somebody on back of scooter at same time whilst a learner, and arrested for affray when 17 never went to court for them, accepted the points for the scooter by post and the affray was dropped. Now 28. Cheers.

would just be looking for a .22 bolt action rifle for target practice, and maybe one of those .22 long barrelled pistols, theres quite a few clubs local to me that does both them disciplines, it was nearly two years ago. Also if you applydo they look at cautions etc?

Friend was driving me home, i was drunk, pulled over he legged it as not insured on car, i stayed with the car in passengers seat, so charge with In charge whilst unfit and IN14 for aiding somebody to drive uninsured.

Hi all, I have a quick question, I am thinking of applying for my FAC soon, however I do have a conviction for "In Charge Whilst Unfit Through Drink" a DR50 and IN14 on my driving licence, I got 10pts and £650 fine. Apart from that nothing else, good health no problems like that. Will they see me as unfit and not issue me a FAC with that conviction? All advice greatly appreciated.
