  1. As someone said earlier buy a full decoy.

Drill a hole in the middle. Fairly large.

Then you need to cut it in half.

After that buy some foam spray. Like you see on Top Gear challenges haha.

Put the decoy back together and spray the foam through the hole. But keep it tight together !

After that take it out and sand with a bit of sandpaper to level off.

After that buy some of that UV paint that pigeons see from UK shoot warehouse sell. Bird vision

You'll need white and grey. Then just paint it like a pigeon and you should have a cheep, light decoy.

If you try this let us know how it works.

    Cheers

  2. Got a hell of a lot of geese on mine and my neighbours fields. Picking all of the rotten potatoes that came out the back of the harvester last year. They are tramping the wheat and packing the soil !

We went yesterday in the morning with some home made silhouette type decoys and some greylag rags. But the wind was against us because we were new to the neighbours field we didn't know of anywhere else to go ! It hit 8.00 am and we heard the first honks. They were coming from the River Foulness about 100 yards from the field ( if anyone shoots this please post with advice ). About 750 were keen to come in but the did not like the wind.

After a slight failure we had a walk round in the day light and found a dike with 360 shooting but plenty of cover. Could have decoys on both fields. After finding this we went back at 2 o clock but they had moved on to other fields for feeding. We walked down to the flooded river and waited. Had a few come in but nothing special. Shot 3 teal though ! :)

Anyhow the jist of it is I am wanting to purchase more decoys. Have 10 home made and 10 windsock bags / rags. They are ok but i was just after some more to make a bigger pattern.

Can anyone advise me on some good decoys. But remember I am from yorkshire and not keen of paying much haha.

    Thanks very much
