If you google "Beretta AL391 Manual" you will see a PDF of the manual - this might help? And a hammer....

3 inch chambers on 303 in think?
-
Dekers - you are right, and I have asked but his English is not great, although better than my French - he thinks its okay but I thought I would seek a second opinion.
Alistair0903 - Thanks for the advice. When you say licence do you mean your firearms licence?
Cheers,

I have just been invited to shoot boar and deer in France (Alsace region) in a few weeks time by a contact through my job. Sounds exciting! However, while I have shot several stags in Scotland with a friend (his gun and land) I do not possess a firearms certificate, only a shotgun certificate for pigeons and the odd duck and pheasant. I understand that we will be using a rifle. So my question is do you think I can shoot or not? I believe I need to apply for a French temporary hunting licence? Please help.

He's 12. I started with right eye dominance but got to about 20 and my left eye took over. Stil wonder if I should switch shoulders today. So I don't want him to have the same issue.
When he is older and gets his own gun I would like to be able to return the 20b to my friend with the original stock, that's why I want to know if they are interchangeable and if they can be bought separately.

My son is about to start shooting, a very generous friend of mine has offered him a long term loan of a Silver Pigeon 20 bore. The gun is for a right hander, which my son is, however it looks like his master eye is his left eye. I plan to take him for a lesson or two to get started and suspect that the coach will recommend he shoots off his left shoulder. If this is the case can anyone tell me if I can buy a left handed stock for his gun and swap this for the current stock, so my son can take advantage of my friends kind offer? Or will i need to get a leftie gun? As these guns are machine made I am hoping the stock would be interchangeable. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

JL you need to settle down and try to imagine how others see you - being an objectionable *** is not a team sport.

Apparently they should spin clockwise in the northern hemisphere and anti-clockwise in th esouthern hemisphere - its all to do with the coriolis effect.

This should be compulsory reading for all school children (adults too). Lest we forget.

If I told you how many shots I would have to kill you! Lets just say I won't bring steel next time (and maybe less beers the night before).

Been out with these guys today for the first time. They had done the hard work in reconnaissance and put us under plenty of pigeons. Bag of 20 including 4 crows, should have been a lot more if I shot straight! Great day, fantastic value, I will be back. Thanks again.

Thanks for the speedy replies. To follow up, I want this gun for the ducks, so I want to put 3 inch steel through it such as Gambore Mammoth 3" Magnum Steel Shot 3 shot 36 grammes, they state on this cartridge that the gun should be proofed to 1370 bar. I believe modern Berettas are proofed for this, but can you tell me if a Beretta 302 would be? I dont yet have the gun so I cant look at the barrel to see what it says, but if you could tell me what to look for, I can ask the owner to check. Thanks again.

How do you tell what chamber size a gun is? Is it stamped on the barrel or do you need to stick a measuring tape down the breech and measure? I am interested in a Beretta 302, most I think are 2 3/4 inch but some are 3 inch. Thanks in advance.
