  1. I didn't realise it was that simple to be honest. Do you still need land owners signatures etc? Rifles are a no no for me just doesn't interest me at all.
  2. Hi all, I've come to realise there are lots of helpful people here so here we go I am not interested in rifles however I do want to get into serious pigeon shooting and would like to purchase a high capacity semi auto. Do they take this into account when applying ?
  3. I might have to dive in and purchase the maxus now
  4. Apologies guys for the delayed update busy weekend shooting Took the gun back to the RFD and he suspected the same thing which was slightly worrying however wanted to have a closer look. Long story short it turned out to be lead and to get it removed he had to soak the thing in cleaner not literally. Apparently it was one of the hardest things to clean off he had seen in a while. I'm happy he is happy so win win. After approx 400 cartridges this weekend there is no signs of the same issue so what caused it in the first place who knows. Once again cheers for the help all it was greatly appreciated
  5. Might give it another going over tonight and try a bit of hoppe's no 9. I will try and take some pictures however you know how hard it is doing this.
  6. Cheers for the replies all. I am going to go to my RFD tomorrow and see what he says. For the person that asked I always shoot fibre wads. There hasn't been one single plastic wad or steel cartridge through it. I really love the gun don't get me wrong the whole situation has just put a downer on things. I would never consider bulling the RFD straight away as I am sure he will be good with the repair etc. When / if it goes away for repair I would not accept anything longer than 2 months without compensation of some sort. Will let you all know how it goes.
  7. I thought BWM Arms Ltd went bust and lost exclusive UK importing rights for browning. Do you know how to contact them / or browning because for some reason browning don't advertise any email of phone number to get to them on. Four months without your gun is a huge joke. What model was it ? Did you get compensation or anything along the lines
  8. Hi fruity cheers for the reply. Sorry to hear that. How long did the process take for repair start to finish and were you given anything for the huge royal pain in the butt it caused?
  9. I will do however I am sure it will be repair and that's the last I will see of my gun for the next few months. It is a shame really as I was just about to purchase a new maxus and this issue has put me right off browning. I guess these things happen but what a nightmare.
  10. As the title says I am pretty annoyed that I spent around 2k on a gun this time last year and the chrome lining in both barrels just in front of the forcing cones are starting to fail. It is actually coming off in tiny flakes when the barels are cleaned. Maintenance on the gun has been second to non since purchase using the bisley cleaning kit and Napier gun cleaner after every outing. The fact is we are now in the middle of the shot season where I shoot game every Saturday and cannot afford time for it to be repaired. If they even will repair it free of charge. Has anyone else has this problem? To be honest I cannot see any problems me delaying reporting this until the end of the game season as this will put the gun just over the 1 year old mark and surely within its warranty period. I would be greatful if someone could advise on what they think I should do. All the best.
  11. Hi All, Was hoping to get some feedback on what boots to buy.I'm debating the meindl dovre extreme gtx or the Harkila pro hunter 12" gtx. Personally I think the harkila's look a lot nicer. Does anyone have any feedback to offer?
  12. All sold out of 36g 4's around here and the steel Fibre shot cup cartridges are too. They are waiting on the FSC shipment I believe which sucks as I need some and they are due in until mid November
  13. Well just to let you know I'm going to give them a go. Off to buy a few boxes on Friday and then duck shooting on sat. Will get off at least 40 so should give a good bit of feedback on them. If my shooting is up to scratch haha. Will let you guys know.
  14. Thanks Webber. I'm going to get a few boxes and see how they go. It really does pain me they are 4 pounds more a box than their plastic equivalent.
  15. how much did you get them for if you don't mind me asking
  16. Hi all, Going to be doing a lot of duck shooting this season and want to find a nice cartridge that is cheapish..which narrows things down to steel but I don't have much experience with it.I also need a cartridge that is fibre wad. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with the game bore 12g Silver Steel Fibre 32g 4s.
  17. The other one is HP steel proof but still don't know what the one left of 2012 is.
  18. Thanks HDAV for the link that certainly clears up the HP Steel issue. I wont cringe when I fire a HP Steel cartridge now Do you know what the other proof mark is to the left of the 2012 stamp? I cannot find it anywhere.
  19. Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. Am i right in thinking that HP Steel proof has to be tested to a minimum of 1320 bar then ?
  20. Hi All, First post so bare with me if I miss something. Needing a bit of help so would really appreciated if some of you have time to answer my question below. I have had my 725 sporter for just under a year now. Going yto be shooting a lot of duck this season so have checked there proof markings on the gun and I am a little confused with one / two. The first is the symbol left of the 2012 stamp on the attached picture and the other is BLB on the top barrel. As I understand the cip steel shot symbol means it is high performance steel shot proof so I shouldn't have any problems with what cartridges I choose? This caused me a little confusion as I thought high performance steel proof was 1370 bar and my paperwork shows it was tested to 1320. I know one of you helpful people on here will help so thanks very much in advance. Attached is also an additional picture if the gun for anyone wanting to see it. Cheers all.
