  1. So here's the raffle prize

I thought as I was teaching a lad this week what would the PW members want that they couldn't buy ?

So I am offering a day in my forge to learn at a minimum how to make the above

    All tools and materials supplied

    One on one instruction

So if you always wanted to be a blacksmith or farrier for a day

    Buy a ticket

    All the best

    Of

That's if mods want it as a prize

I think this is a great prize!

    Very kindly offered! :-)

  2. I've always shot 30" until recently. Bought a 32", and am loving it! Very steady and smooth on the swing.

Of course its always personal preference. If you can, try shooting it first before parting with your hard earned just in case it isn't for you.

  3. The newer style extended chokes have the thread at the bottom of the choke. The old style have it at the top.

The old type is compatible with one of the beretta types (optima maybe?), but just to confuse, you can get internal versions of the "new" type too.

Old and new Hatsan chokes won't fit due to the thread position differences.

  4. Have noticed this on the FS forum actually. I'm 6'2", 42-44" chest, and 36" waist so I normally go for size large in most clothing. Unfortunately as other people have commented, this is not a common size on PW other sales threads it seems?!

My BMI always reads normal?! But I never trust that scale anyway.

  5. Shotguns are no different to any other material possession in life, there will always be people with a different opinion to yours. Whether it is Vauxhall or Ford, Barbour or Primark, Hatsan or Beretta, Dunlop or Le Chameau, etc.

Some people interpret a different opinion as snobbery or rudeness, some people feel hard done by because others spend money they can't, it is just the difference between people.

Undoubtably there is snobbery, inverse snobbery, a bit of ignorance, tongue in cheek comments, but that is true for everything.

Some folk are just insecure and need some sort of acceptance or approval in their taste. Equally people are passionate about their interests which means they become passionate about their choices, that is healthy.

I quite honestly couldn't give a hoot about what other people have, it makes no difference to me at all. Buy what you want to buy with your own money and accept that what you choose other people might not, but it really doesn't matter. If folk look down their nose at you then they are clowns who are not worth caring about, equally if folk are bent out of shape with jealousy because you have something they aspire to, but can't, well they are clowns too.

People that are slaves to any brand because of image are a bit sad to my way of thinking, brand loyalty as a result of a good experience is different.

    Well said! :-)
