  1. I replaced 2 front tyres on an Outlander Phev, and was read a statement provided by Mitsubishi that all 4 should be changed at the same time. It did seem odd to me at the time , seeing as there is no physical connection  between the front and rear axles. Needless to say I ignored it, as it was a leaser going back in a few months..

Thanks Scully. I'll be using it on the coast and inland. I know the Black benellis (which both are) are prone ro rust. Are the Benellis still the long term option?

Probably a bit late now, but I'm very pleased with my sxp.  Probably one of the most popular pump guns in the US if you believe the hype. The You tube videos of the Gould bros are impressive,  but should be taken with a huge pinch of salt.

  3. Had my .22 100kt nigh on 10 years now. Tack driver with the right pellets. For the last 5 years its probably been out only 7 or 8 times , and not once has it lost a single ounce of pressure. The mag and cocking mechanism is totally idiot proof,  which is a must on cold dark nights lamping.

Or removed, seen one with a bit of wood blocking the mag hole!

The most common way is to have a pin welded across the breach, so only a slotted mag can be inserted. I have a deactivated Bren in euro deac spec, and this was the way the proof house got round it. They weld in the barrels though!

  5. If you ever get the chance to go back, then bin hurghada and opt for el gouna 30 minutes up the coast. Much nicer gated town with amazing marinas. Very artificial,  but also very chilled out. The kitesurfing and Scuba diving centres are amongst the best in the world.

Maybe after this we should all consider buying british and holidaying in britain to help get the economy back on its feet

It's just as bad here. Sykes Holiday Cottages are refusing to give people refunds for holidays which aren't happening and only offering a credit for a let if taken over the next two years (at much inflated prices) They take 25% of the owners money as well, so they are ripping off both the customers and property owners!

AGL are open but have pushed back their member shoot which was scheduled for tomorrow. No food and the lodge is shut, don't congregate to close around the ground etc..

Seems they're doing a pre-pay phone in service where you can request a number of clays, and carts if needed, and show your license on arrival to receive the Promatic card to use without going in the shop. If I wasn't considered at risk I'd probably go for the fresh air.

Barbury shooting ground has put exactly the same procedure into place. I hope to go next week.

  8. Been using them since the eighties Always had good service . Bought a 42'' Sharp LCD which was faulty out of the box and it was swapped out at home immediately no quibble. Doubt you would get the same service from those clowns at PC World.

  9. Sbmcc. Com as mentioned earlier. Absolute gold mine of information. Also handy for when you tell dvla that it's now a camper ( let's you go faster)

I converted a Vito a few years ago. Custom rock n roll beds can be obtained fairly cheaply off eBay. The rest is simple cabinet making, the key is keeping it all fairly light. Trickiest parts are heating and gas. Electrics are fun but fairly straightforward. Don't forget a gas dropout!

  10. I think hammer guns would be, if not more dangerous than semi auto's ... earlier posters commented about O/U's with extended chokes pillow casing birds at 20 ft Unfortunately you witness that at all shoots (even with a pair of 50k Purdeys!) If a shotgun is choked to 1/4 and 1/2, then the spread will be the same whether its from a powder burner to a Krieghoff! Unfortunately the Berk at the end of the trigger should know better as to when to pull it.

Also, how do we know a £40 SxS is safe and in proof? I wouldn't fancy the pain from shooting an ill fitting 28'' with no butt pad and 32gram cartridges. BUT if it 'respects' the birds, that's OK then..

  11. To throw another spanner in the works, called in to my local RFD and asked about CG to which he smiled yea all right he said seem to be lasting the test of time that a lot of folks thought they wouldn't. From a resale point why not consider a 725 more sought after in second hand market were his words.??

I'd rather deal with Anglo Italian than the chuffing Browning importers! I am sure my local RFD does too! :)
