  1. No of course I wasn't, as said earlier in the post ' Still missed everything though but I suspect the wind didn't help today, few birds around but all very high in the sky on the wind so didn't try at most.'. IMA novice but still understand the principles of what we do. I'm just after some pointers to help me along my way to become a better shot
  2. Thanks for the reply's. I have minimal experience so starting to learn in the field as such. All your help is greatly received and take on board. Hdav I'm inbetween Oswestry and Welshpool, and when you say they should look like an 8 that makes a lot of sense to me
  3. I suppose haimwood in llandrinio is my nearest.
  4. I do agree its my skill rather Than a choke issue atm! Will look into lessons shortly at the local clayground, think I'm struggling to mount it 100% at the moment. Its a mk38 sporter that has a small white bead on the end of the barrels and one half way down, I take it that ti be aiming correctly my line of sight down the barrel should keep them to lined with each other? I was playing before and felt that I could only get the end one properly into sight which made me think the gun would be shooting higher than I was aiming. Ive lifted it where it meets my shoulder and my cheek now fits nicer and brings both the sight dots into line. Still missed everything though but I suspect the wind didn't help today, few birds around but all very high in the sky on the wind so didn't try at most. I must say though I was surprised how much recoil I could feel, ive got gamebore clear pigeon 30 6,s at the moment
  5. Well I couldn't seem to hit nothing after I changed them, I was worried I'd got a poor combination, turns out I just can't hit nothing yet!
  6. Well after popping to the gunroom this morning with my newly acquired license, I've arrived home with a new miroku mk38 sported. Its come with 2 internal chokes as standard which are marked full and skeet, that sounded a bit of a strange combo to me so onsid the box it also comes with 3 in vector plus external chokes so I've put them in in mod and imp cyl which I believe is 1\4 and 1\2. Is this a good combo or have I ballsed it up?? I've put the 1\2 in the top barrell? Tried a few carts of gamebore clearpigeon 30 6s through it before and hit ****** all. Got a lot to learn I think!
  7. Ideal. Thanks for that, could be shopping tomorow then!
  8. Does anyone know if wynstay gunroom in oswestry is open on Saturdays?
  9. Manythsnks for the reply's. Been to the gun shop this morning and fell in love with a Beretta 690 field iii, might pop back in the mornin yet, decisions decisions!!
  10. Well its not 100% good news for us dibbz, my mate who applied a day before me, had his feo visit in the morning and mine was the afternoon of the same day but his never arrived. Phoned thus morning to be told there's no notes on it other Than showing he'd been visited by the feo! So looks like it might be a while before his comes, still doesn't stop me going shopping mind you!
  11. Ah right so its kind of printed on as guns in your posession at time of renewal, and then your seller adds them to your ticket as you buy and then there put on in ink again at renewal, I see now. By notifying them is it as simple as just emailing firearms with my license number and make model and serial number of new guns? Sorry fir all the questions but I researched my license application massively but buying and selling guns was something I overlooked so want to make sure I don't do nothing wrong so soon after my grant! Sorry just read the 'by recorded post' bit! I'm that excited my eyes have stopped working
  12. Sgc this time. I was just wandering how it works,as in if I buy from an rfd, and he fills out the one section in pen, how does firearms then know what you've got at home? Also on the back of my license there's a big blank page printed that says guns present or something like that and mine just has *none* printed on it. So how do you end up with a list printed on it??
  13. Wel after a long wait my brown envelope arrived from Dyfed Powys this morning! Can anyone tell me the protocol on entering guns on your ticket either from rfd or face to face??
  14. Yes I'm chuffed to bits, when I asked how long it may be before it arrives he said there's plenty of them on the office so a couple of weeks should have it covered! Just a shame such drastic action had to be taken but in all fairness just shows it worked, Dyfed Powys police have to deal with complaints within ten days as they don't like having negative complaints/feedback. Sure enough 6 days after my friend sent an email of complaint about the service received the feo was on the doorstep. Just hope they carry on and process it quickly now. Id even go as far to send an email of thanks naming the feo after his great service
  15. Well a great turn up for the books today, after 4 1/2 months me and my friend who both applied at the same time decided something needed to be done. My friend sent a complaint to the Dyfed Powys police about the poor service he had received with his application. Low and behold 6 days later he had a call off the feo asking to come today for a visit. I was also there when he arrived and after explaining the situation he was very happy to also come and inspect mine as it takes two more off his list, so... After some major grumbling to the powers above firearms all is good and he is forwarding our applications to licensing Monday morning. Also a very helpful person he was too, Happy days!
