This could be the nail in coffin for my dad and brother. I work in construction but still have close ties to farming. Its hard enough to make any money in farming and effectively doubling fuel duty will cripple them.

The report as mentioned before suggests the construction industry will bear the brunt but the government will slide farm vehicles in somehow Im sure.

Yes you can get the G7 power for the same money as the xone and the Moto way out performs it

Very good budget phone. My brother has one and loves it. I have a G5 but will upgrading to either a G8 or Samsung A?? series next year. I never have flag ship phones anymore. Some of the budget phones perform more than well enough for what I want them to do.

  3. If your after a cheap smart phone there are probably better options. Ive always been a Motorola G series fan having migrated from iPhones. My wife has a budget Samsung which is a good phone as well. You don't have to pay silly money for a good performing phone rom a recognised brand.

Aren’t they heavy though with the toe cap? Also I bought a pair of Chameau and they are like slippers in comparison to other generic wellies. Wear them all day and in a different league.

However after 10 years of relatively light use the rubber has perished so as noted in the above posts they have a shelf life.

I can't say I've noticed the weight. I think for a steel toe cap they are light compared to my normal site boot. I have walked miles in them and they are like walking in trainers to me. Dunlop do a non toe capped version of the purafoot but if mine fail I'll get another toe capped pair.

and.....it tars us all with the same brush, remember that.  I have been at this game for many many years and some comments on here make me shudder. Identify your target and ANY doubt do not shoot.  Do not shoot unless the shot is 100% safe as well.

Sorry but Im with Walker570 on this. Even if the dog was in the bushs next to the path he still shot in the direction of the path. Only takes a second to look at the target to identify it. My thoughts are a spaniel moves a bit differently to a fox so you'd think there would be a few clues to pick up on before pulling the trigger. He also cant have killed the dog cleanly as its says it later at the vets which poses questions about his ability to kill cleanly.

I was lamping rabbits once and some eyes in the torch did not seem right. We got closer only to find it was the neighbours cat. I did not shoot.

  6. My daughter was born 364 days after we got married. The risk i have is either forgetting how old my daughter is or how long Ive been married. Someone will get annoyed if I forget. Then to top it all its my wifes birthday 5 days later. Im generally broke by the 13th Sept every year :unhappy:

More importantly buy something that fits you!

I'm agree with this. Guns only any good if it fits properly.

With a £600 budget and only wanting a workhorse a lanber would be a good shout. I have had one for years and it's never missed a beat.

  8. From the sounds of it you have had a fantastic bank holiday.

Saturday for us was spent preping for an engagement party. Not mine I have been wed for 7yrs in a couple of weeks. My mother in law has found happiness again so we were celebrating that. Lovely evening out ours with a few beers and good food cooked by lovely wife.

Yesterday we went to the beach then my daughter had some more riding lessons with her pony.

Today more riding first thing the to bude for a car boot and a couple more hrs at the beach. My wife loves the beach and was teaching our littlen body boarding. Was a pleasure to watch.

Hope everyone had a good bank holiday, the weather has certainly made it a good one. Just hope tomorrow is nice as I booked an extra day off work to make it a nice long break.

There are several reasons why someone on a shooting forum may either not be fully aware of the latest changes or need reassurance from their community.

Pigeon or decoying in general may simply not be their usual field sport, they may have done a little in the past and decided to have a fresh go or perhaps a farmer has asked them to, such a person wouldn't necessarily have clicked on every topic of discussion on the subject. In short the events would have been of varying degrees of importance to different people. I vaguely know tail docking is illegal but until the day I need to chop one off there's little point memorising the fine detail or learn the loopholes.

They may have read the new licence but felt they couldn't fully comprehend certain points, they may have even heard contradictory advice from different shooters (when has that ever happened !).

Worst case scenario is they're just too lazy to do the research themselves so they ask a straightforward question, even then it's not right to mock, if you know the answer then give it, I bet plenty reading this particular thread would have been interested in the answer  .

    Well said.

I am a firm believer that the most stupid question out there is the one not asked. If you don't know or don't understand something ask someone that does! I will confess I don't everything but I'm not afraid to ask someone that does.

There are many on here who have much more shooting knowledge than me but I will admit reading some of the blunt responses on this post I sometimes don't want to ask for fear getting some to the initial responses the op got.

Getting more knowledge is why I joined the forum

  10. I shoot at a small clay club once a month. My average is currently 62% I know this as we keep scores and I record the ongoing handicaps. It's not competitive and we all shoot for the fun of shooting.

I used to obsess about the numbers and tried to better myself but that obsession made me reluctant to go at all. I know go for the laugh and to chat with friends. The clays are second and the score is totally unimportant.

Enjoy the shooting first and the scores will sort themselves out

  11. Ive always had very good service from D&C when renewing and applying for FAC and SGC. FEO for my area is very efficient and a pleasure to talk to. When I moved house I sent my licence in for updating, in 2 days they called and asked where the cabinet was situated, 2 days later licence was posted through my door. Can ask for much more. Keep up the good work D&C.

  12. Very sad news. I'm too young to have seen him race but know how dangerous the era of F1 was back then. He was driver, engineer and sportsman of the highest order and will be sorely missed. RIP Niki Lauda 🏎️

Classic car, loads of fun and always something to do.

I have had this Sunbeam about 25 years, latest edition is an 1980 E30 BMW 3 series with full history and 64000 miles on it.

That is a beaut. My brother has an MG midget and my dad has a rather nice MGB GT (1.8) and TF. As you can tell they are MG fans lol. Lets hope we get a nice summer to get them out of the garage.

  14. Pal of mine is constantly complaining he cant get a gun to fit. He has tried monte stocks, adjustable stocks. He has now fitted a trap stock to his browning and about to order a custom high rib to fit onto it. I have no idea if this will work but time will tell. He likes to shoot sporting and DTL.

Why would you sign it if its incorrect. I never sign mine before sending it back if it's not correct.

My thought exactly. Signing it is a declaration that you have checked it and happy with the contents. Send it back unsigned, tell them whats wrong with it and wait for the corrected copy to be sent back.
