Did you do a lot of short journeys in it?  They will knacker any modern diesel.

I normally do about at least a 90 mile long round motorway trip ones a week plus a longer trip in the shooting season.  But it was the Covid lockdown which made me cut my longer trips and it was just my short run to work. I have a Nissan diesel which is newer and it has never had an issue but no lockdowns, thankfully! I did consider getting the dpf removed but I was reluctant to do it.

It was the leaking fuel and corrosion of the fuel lines and suspension parts which for a 12 year old car is pretty poor. The fuel lines leaked in multiple places.

  2. I had a Subaru Outback for the same reasons you mentioned. Lovely big boot and could easily handle light off-roading.

I liked the car but it everything went wrong at the same time. Dpf, egr kept going.  But the biggest problems where the fuel lines corroded leaking diesel.

I would have another 4x4 estate car but not a Subaru. I like the Skoda superb which is a strong contender.

  3. Tavira is nice no wasn’t too hilly, my 2 year old son managed. Some good beaches nearby.

Most towns I have been too on the Algarve are really nice but I think most are hilly.

Not much doubt about that Gordon.

Yet Lisa Nandy, who is much brighter and more capable has just been very pointedly and publicly demoted  in the last reshuffle . Her second demotion by Starmer who clearly sees her as a threat.

As Diane Abbott has shown in the past, being thick is no hindrance to getting on in the Labour Party

I did see Lisa Nandy in Sainsbury’s the champagne socialist 😊

  5. I personally cycle occasionally, with my young son in a chair on the back and would not use the roads. however like most things in life it is about respecting others and not riding at speed in places where others are around and past dogs.

I also would do not have a bell on but use my voice to speak to others while passing. My reasoning for this is ringing a bell might be misunderstood for me saying get out my way rather than alerting to my presence, and a lot of people would take offence.

However I remember when my partner was pregnant a cyclist nearing hitting her while we were walking my dog on a public foot path. I am guessing he was trying to set some personal record and thought stopping to allow a pregnant woman past would slow the fat ****** down.

  6. You can buy some fuel called Aspen but it a lot dearer than petrol. That is supposed to be made for lawn mowers and other small engines. I have not tried it myself.

For the amount you use it won’t brake the bank.

  7. It is amazing how much contempt some people have for others in a different profession.

I also believe the main complaint from teachers is to do with the funding for the teachers pay coming out of existing schools budgets.

  8. Is he not entitled to he’s own political views even if you don’t agree with them. I would understand he was voicing he’s opinion on match of the day.

I am not trying to be controversial I just believe if freedom of speech.

  9. I think if some one actively shoots or hunts their own food, probably has more in common with a vegetarian that someone who eats cheap meat from the takeaway or supermarket.

At least in both situations it is the individual activity making a choice on what they will eat or not based on their own ethics.
