  1. A bit late to the party but here goes, 2003 Jimny on mud terrains, goes anywhere and everywhere (can be a curse though, other vehicles cant get to you) gets 2 red hinds, rifle and dog in it. Does 70-75 tops, not great for motorway work lol. I used it as my daily and I was getting around 40mpg. Great little trucks. Put a front locker in them and they are literally, unstoppable. They will climb anything you point them to. I am honestly yet to get stuck! Much much better than my navara with mud tyres on it. It's not even a contest

  2. Up for reluctant sale is my jimny, only being let go as it's now too small for my needs (dogs, deer, future kids) I would have kept it if I didn't have as many dogs as I do lol. Good points, 90400 miles Strong little engine, 1300 twin cam petrol All oils/filters have been done within the last 6k miles, all axle oils, gearbox and so on. Tyres are in good nick, probably 16mm of tread all around (kobra malatesta trac 2's, new mid last year) It was lifted however the lift blocks have gone, springs and dampers still there to try and make it ride a bit nicer, it drives much better with a deer in the back. Both belts have recently been changed. Around 10-11 months mot on it. Now for the bad points,  No service history, it's been within the family for the last 10 years or so and has done minimal miles in that time, having a FULL serviced religiously every year, everything that its wanted has been done with the exception to the below. Blower motor has started making a slight noise, I will try and clean it out before it goes Some rust, it's an old jap car, they all rust! Nothing major, had a plate a couple of years ago and been ok since. The spare wheel is buckled, that's why it's now a spare The aeriel has snapped, not bothered me as i plug my phone in The bodywork is the worst bit, there are a couple of scratches and scuffs on it, nothing major. The fact its faded red is the problem! Again, I will try and get the machine polisher on it because it comes up a treat when it's been done The rear boot ram sometimes doesnt hold, not really bothered me. There is the famous wheel wobble at 45mph, before and after that it has gone, exacerbated by the tyres on it Now, it is an old car, had been used for it's intended use and HAS had deer and dogs in it, it is relatively clean inside considering, I will say dont expect a new car! All in all, a very reluctant sale and I will legitimately be sad to see it go, it has gone everywhere I want it to, be it off road or on road (if you know anything about the jimny, they are an incredible vehicle off road and will go most places including where the big toys go and beyond) Prices, having had a look around on the various sales sites I feel I have priced it accordingly at £1300 ONO. If I had the means and money to keep 3 cars in the family I would, without doubt. There may be a tear when it goes! It has been 100% reliable, it hasn't ever let me down and getting in to some of the places it goes means It had been serviced and looked after to save and issues whilst off the beaten track. Any questions just ask. I have listed pretty much anything WRONG i can, obviously if I think of anything else I will happily state it. If any pictures are needed send me a pm and I will get them sent over ASAP. Thanks, Ben

  3. Stay away from the navs, they ain't great and have many engine problems! I used to repair a lot of them lol (2007 or so onwards to around 2016)

    Nice one Dave. Cheers 👍

Bit late on this but just a heads up, if you get in to green laning (bit different to p2p) then technically it's still a road, it's a BOAT. so you will still be insured irrespective if they dont say you are as it's a legal byway. Figured it might be of some help lol

  5. 22wmr for me, had both and still got the hmr, what a bad choice that was. Used it succesfully for a few years but had ammo problems. The 22wmr using 25g ntx ammo from hornady is similar to the hmr ballistics wise, cheaper and without the inconsistencies. As for the hmr being **** in wind, if your pushing distances past 100 then it will be, up to that point and shoot unless it's real windy

How are you getting on with the training Hendrix?

She's coming on well, not out with her as much as I'd like as it's stalking season, have a dog for that! She will retrieve, she's well underway with hand signals, she will pick rooks and jackdaws, pheasants and rabbit. She will flush them from cover aswell. She's mad as a box of frogs but she's a lovely little dog. She got a ####ing last weekend though trying to go for a winged crow, it wasn't happy and she wanted it. The ears turned off until i grabbed her collar, moved her and put another shot at it to finish it. She also doesn't like sitting still for too long lol

When I spoke to the vet at around 3pm, she mentioned an internal bleed that she had managed to the off??, I only wish now i had stuck to my gut instinct and cancelled the opp, but I felt it relatively safe as the bitch was as fit as could be and showing no signs of her advancing years.

I just feel so let down by someone I thought I could trust, and the more I read into this situation the more it becomes apparent how little you can actually trust anyone.

Sounds familiar, that will be on record so the fact that she had a bleed, wasn't very well after with light gums should have been all they needed mate. You know when you heart/lung shoot a deer, they stand and wobble over, that's what mine did that's what gave it away for me. I hope you take this further and make sure you get a copy of the report before it goes missing or the computer wipes it... good luck and I hope your self and your family is ok

I don't really want to sue them as it's not my way, but if it is the only way I can make her understand where I believe she has fsiled us, firstly by advising the operation, not advising a pre aesthetic bloods or check up (I even phoned the practice before hand to see if this was required), basically not checking notes as to dogs age etc, releasing the bitch from her practice without checking her over, and finally not spotting the obvious signs 12hrs after, just putting her pale gums increased heart rate and lower than normal temp simply down to her been too cold. The only bloods that were taken was the tiniest drop at around 6.45 the day after the op, which she struggled to get any, now to me this should have raised many concerns to a proffesional after doing some homework it certainly does to me.

I have tried the RCVS who have said unless there is gross misconduct there is little they can do, I will await a reply from the vets, but it all may be a waste of effort, but if I don't do anything and find this happens again I wouldn't be happy!

You can request from the vets the report of the surgery, might be worth going through that to see what's been said. That's how we found out our girl had an internal bleed and it 'held up the rest of the surgery' that was a proper botch job what he did... I do know where your coming from in regards to sueing, I didn't because of one person's bad job however the rest of the vets sorted it ASAP as in she was having emergency surgery within an hour and a half or so (had to drive half hour to a specialist) and they paid out for everything including going in every day for blood tests and counts. It's definite negligence what they have done to you and unfortunately your girl. They shouldn't have operated in the first place, after that they should have checked your concern about gums and sorted it there and then. Personally, again, not my way but I'd be ******* them over for it and if the same situation arose with myself I wouldn't be playing nicely about it! And my Mrs says the same thing, they might think twice next time. Sorry again

This is more a cautionary tale, after following my vets advice to have my weimeraner bitch spayed at 9 and a half, which I realise is late however I was going to breed from hears she was a great companion and a great worker, but with a young family the time was never right. Now her last season wasn't without complications but a few antibiotics soon cleared that up, so I booked the opp in for 3 months later. This brings us to last Thursday at 11am as requested I took her in I didn't get to speak to the vet until I carried her onto the table, and she was put under, I was told to collect her around 2.30ish. I phoned the practice at around 3 as I hadn't heard anything, to be told she was on a drip and recovering well I even got to speak to the vet who said she was shocked to find out she was over 9, which I found strange as I would have thought her notes would have been available in the first place, I believe the only way she did find out was from one of her helpers who I told while in the waiting room.

I collected her around 5.30 with painkillers etc, now she was groggie but I expected that, I was up most of the night with her, but at 6am she collapsed so I phoned the vet who thought this was sometimes normal after aesthetic and could take up to 36hrs to get out of her system. I asked the vet to see her as her gums were just not right, she agreed and said there was little to be concerned about but just keep her warm etc and gave her more painkiller and vit b+, my girl died in my wife's arms at 10am on Friday.

Now I would also like some advice as I don't want this happening to anyone else if I can help it. I have spoken to another trusted vet who has said the operation shouldn't have been advised, and at the very least a pre op blood test should have been done neither of which were offered as an option. Now where do I go ? No amount of money will fetch her back so I'm not interested in suing the vet, but I want her to understand and acknowledge her mistakes, to educate so this won't happen to anyone else. Any ideas?

Sorry for the dabbling post but I had to get it off my chest infection in somewhere.

Late on this, sorry for your loss. I had something similar last September, spayed at 2, groggy after but the day after not good. She lost a couple of litres of blood before collapsing as the vet made a comment on the notes, internal bleeding but left her be. Sue them for all there worth

Dont get me wrong, I don't drive like a nutter because I have decent tyres, I frequently have my young lad in the car, my missus and nan so they're safety is top priority.

I've stuck with prelli p7's for a number of years because I feel confident in that tyre. They wear extremely well and evenly, the last set I had were on the car when I brought it, i put 20,000 on them and they still had tread left on when I changed them, only swapped them out as one had an unrepairable puncher.

My missus had a polo which had Bridgestone turanza's on 3 corners and a nanking on the other. I can hand in heart say when I pushed the car a bit harder I could feel the lack of grip on that corner, dread to think what 4 of them would have been like.

Depending on what nankang they were you could be surprised. I used to use nankangs and they do a couple of patterns and compounds that would out perform any top end tyre, just got to know your tyres :D to the OP, landsails for me, best budget tyre going. Handle extremely well in all conditions, wear evenly and are cheap. In the colder months the mud and a snow tyres are great aswell. I've had the usual, toyo,  Bridgestone, pirelli and the landsails seem to stand up the best

The idea of the honeycomb is to stop reflection from the front lens of the scope, thereby giving your position away.

Your 3 inch sunshade should stop glare from the sun, unless it is virtually in front of you , or reflecting from something.

    +1

The biggest increase in people using foodbanks has come from people who work.

If me and my Mrs packed our jobs in and claimed dole we would have more between us along with the extra time... start spawning kids and we would be rolling in it! Not for me though :D
