Perhaps the increase in fowlers on Nigg relates to Findhorn? It may be that cowboys are finding Findhorn a bit hot so are going else where. Nigg may become the new Findhorn???
I think you're correct, but I think its more the travelling gun who doesn't want his sport ruined by a few idiots. If I'd booked a holiday I wouldn't want it ruined by a couple of idiots, given most geese leave over the corner they sit at. There are plenty of spots at Findhorn you'll never see an anti but you might only see ducks too. Hopefully a resolution comes soon and things can settle back down.

I noticed far more fowlers @ Nigg bay in November, but I think a lot were fowlers usually visitors to Findhorn bay pushed north by the foundation terrorists.
I heard this too from one of my syndicate members that heads up that way, he'd never seen so many folks at Nigg. Hopefully Findhorn will get sorted out.

We find out how our Grouse are doing on the 12th. The surrounding estates seem ok so our little syndicate should be fine. There are some late broods and I think some places are delaying the start but here its all go on the 12th. I think I'd have more chance getting a date with the keepers wife than finding out his grouse count LOL!!

I've a young lab, only 10wks old, I've started doing very short walks with her to get used to the sights and sounds around her. I've only got a slip lead for her at the moment and was thinking of getting a training lead. I'm on only very basic recall and sitting commands at the moment and she is gaining confidence when we are out. I was wondering if letting her range out a little on a training lead would be ok or would this make heel work more difficult in future. I don't want to dampen her enthusiasum by keeping her within the confines of a slip lead. If she got a fight I'd be concerned she'd bolt.
Would I be doing the right thing or is there another method? She pulls more and more on her lead to get into bushes etc. I don't want to push too hard on her so young, I made that mistake with my first springer.
Thanks

Try soaking the biscuits in boiling water to soften them up, that way they are soft like the tinned meat.

Looks like a blinding day!

Sorry to hear of the loss, going by the pictures you had a lot of fun together over the years!

I'm picking my pup up in a couple of weeks and been looking at insurance. Some are more expensive than my house insurance!
Just wondering what the other members are using and who should I avoid.

What's the betting? That they will be back for more!
You can be sure they will be out checking where people are with cameras etc. We just have to be sure we are squeaky clean and comply with the agreement.
If my memory serves me well I think they tried to stop people digging bait for fishing on the bay too many years back and got no where with that. Shame the same isn't happening this time.

Nice write up and well done for pushing through the midge torture!!

Have a look at the AA decoys site. Andy Moss offers a very good deal,,,you won't regret it. Built like a brick building!
Thanks for that tip, his stuff looks great and a huge saving on some other sites.

Attached below is the agreement with the council and others for shooting this season on Findhorn Bay. I think that signs will be out to help folk be sure they are in the correct locations.

Maybe it was carried away by a moonlight shadow?

I'd take him up on the offer, everybody starts in the same place. You'll not look back!

I use mink oil warmed up and brushed on, seems to do a great job.

I use a few Rc Atomic steel, Hull but I was considering a switch to Eley Lightning steel as they now have a biodegradable wad.
