  1. Whole thing has been stripped down, bolt stripped trigger out and all cleaned etc

Takes a bit of working out how the trigger comes out and bolt comes apart but all fun.

Mine has 2mm of brass added on the receiver so that it will cycle more modern day clay loads

From what I can gather mine is one of the first made that didn't have the Prefix letters

  2. Well I finally got a pair of Alt Berg, spent over a hour in the shop getting the fitting right then got the call today saying they are all done and should arrive next week.

Service from their staff is impeccable, i must have tried 7 different combinations before we finally got the fit perfect and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Only down side is the misses now has her eye on a pair!

  3. She's just started to shoot and said the 24g hurt her shoulder so for the moment want to keep 21g till shes more confident and has the gun mount correct every time. 8's are a compromise but when your only allowed 9's they don't help us.

I think I'm going to have to try her on 24g again now the guns been fitted to her but don't want to put her off if they are hurting her

  4. I'm impressed they give you the £85+vat back if they do the work, my local stratstone don't and I was having the rear diff rebuilt which is another common problem at over £500 to fix. I did manage to claim 50% of the cost back through landrover as the car only had 56k on it when the diff nose bearing went, that was January and still waiting for the money!

  5. I had mine taken out on the V50 as it saved a lot of hassle, there are 2 types installed on the V50 one that uses an additive one doesn't. Depending on the millage the tank may need to be filled which is a pain to do as its located on top of the rear axle. If you google it you will get a picture and be able to see if you have a tank or not fitted.

  6. Wife's car did exactly the same, wouldn't open and blown fuse due to the filler cap. Think it cost me about £65 for the filler assembly and boot lid switch and took about an hour to change both of them.

Really easy fix if your that way inclined and all the parts were landrover no aftermarket ones!

  7. Altbergs are expensive but I've not seen any £250 plus on the website, yeah your looking at £200 but then you spend most of the day in them so don't mind paying a premium for a fitted boot.

Being local to them has kind of swung it for me so I'll be having a run over next week to try them. Never know I might not like them.

  8. I have a pair of Scarpa GTX boots but they are a little low up the leg for support when walking on rough ground. Brilliant boots I do all my shooting in them at present and even were them for just popping out in and I also have a pair of Scarpa shoes as well I like them that much.

  9. Can always just get the train down and leave the car at your closest station if she finds it hard to find parking. I'm sure they will pay for your parking and travel if you take the receipt in with you, or at least they did when I did mine 10 years ago.
